Hostel:

Yes, there is residence only for the first years after which students have to take up leases in Off-Campus Housing. There are different types of residence, which can be found on the university website in detail. Since Waterloo is a student town, the demand for housing is usually high. Rent within 1 km of the university area can range from CAD $550-800 a month. If living off-campus, public transportation is paid for in your tuition itself. Most people use the bus and the ION. However, in the winter it is tough to use public transit due to the snow.

Lower tuition costs, a good business program, the chance of co-op.

Hostel:

I lived on campus in the first year. This was a single room dorm. It has a semi-private washroom I shared with another girl. I was also forced to purchase a meal plan for which I had to pay 5000 for the year. This was in addition to the cost of living in a residence which was 5500 over the year.

Because it had a small campus and a community feel. I enjoyed the feel of the campus when I was researching it. Additionally, this was one of the few universities in Canada where they did offer a co-op program to art students.

It had the program I wanted and has a really good community. The campus is nice and small so it is easy to get to know everyone. The professors are nice and helpful. The university staff help make the school feel welcoming so I went.

I opted for this university because of the unique program that it provided. Political science BA with an LLB Law degree in England. It also had a small campus which made it more personalized. It is number 1 in student satisfaction.

Hostel:

My residence was like a hotel. It had three floors with 22 people on each floor. I had all the girls on my floor which was great because I met my roommates that I live with right now on my floor. We had a don who watched over us all year but she was super nice and didn't get mad or upset at very much. We often had pizza parties in the lounge or ordered food from our on-campus restaurant. I miss residence a lot and all the fun things that came along with living with 22 other girls!

It was one of the only options for me to take Kinesiology because in high school I didn't take advanced math or chemistry. I have always loved the school because my older sister studies here as well, so when I got accepted it was an easy decision.

Hostel:

Well, I didn't live in residence. I lived off residence on my first year which isn't really recommended but I didn't feel like I missed out on anything, to be honest. I still feel like I had the same experience as others except for the first month or so.

Because I got to move away from home and experience living on my own as well as gaining the freedom of having my own place without someone always asking me questions. As well as the program here at Laurier is amazing for business.

Friends and a good social life. This school offers a lot of clubs and extra school activities. Laurier has a good party life and also is good for all kind of students who may not like partying, the gym is also really nice

Hostel:

In first year I stayed in apartment style residence and my building was about a kilometre from campus. My apartment had 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen, as well as a common room. This year I am living in off campus housing run but a private company that is also about one kilometre from campus.

I chose Laurier because of the small campus size, program reputation, and it is close to my home town. Laurier has smaller class sizes which makes learning a more personal experience and you are able to get more attention from your professors!

Hostel:

My residence was a bedroom that me and my roomate shared. We had a washroom that was shared among the girls on our floor. Each floor was the same of the same gender, i.e first floor was all girls but then second floor was all guys. Each foor had a lounge that we all shared and could hang out in. You were also able to rent a mini fridge if you wanted.

Liked the program and small community vibes. It was important to me that the school I chose have an healthy amount of funding to my program. Other schools I visited it wasn?t obvious that some neglected certain programs. I also loved Lauriers school spirit and was impressed with how highly everyone who went there talked about it.
