Overview

There were two strong reasons behind choosing the IVEY Business School for undergoing 1 year program in MBA which can be mentioned here :- 1) The Business School is one of its kind which deploys case learning method in every class apart from teaching from the conventional methodology. It helps you to uderstand the contemporary business world and shapes you to take the challenges ahead. 2) The strong alumni network of the Business School across Canada that would help getting desired job. I my opinion , making out for a job in Canada requires a strong alumni connection

Overview

I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do in my life. Originally I wanted to be a dermatologist which would give me the freedom of any undergrad. I was originally accepted to all the universities I applied to for bio or biochem (as I loved bio). I got to thinking and knew bio was not a great degree to have if I didn't get into med school. A friend's relative is an actuary and the more she told me about it as well as when I took grade 12 calculus and fell in love with math I knew it was for me. Western was the only of the 4 schools I applied to where my major wasn't set in stone as well they offered me a 10,000 scholarship.

Fees

I am not international so I have no idea I took out OSAP loans which are not the best since they do not even come close to covering what I'd need them to. Many students this year had to drop out because of Doug Ford's restructuring of the loans. The 10 tuition cut was just moved to the other fees category of tuition therefore no actual tuition cut.

Overview

I opted for this college because it is well known in my area and a fantastic option for my location. My older sibling came here first. My admissions average was 85% in my top 6 university-level grade 12 courses. The admission process was easy and I only applied to western universities and affiliating colleges.

Fees

The yearly fee for my program is $14000, I've applied to OSAP to gain the half loan and half grant. Criteria is basically a family in need of financial assistance based on the yearly income of parents. This process is fairly simple yet somewhat unfair for some students whose parents are not assisting in college tuition and who make a substantial amount of money.

Overview

I knew this college was good because previous family members had attended it. Also, the admission process was very smooth. The school tuition fee fits my budget. Overall, I chose to attend the University of Western Ontario because I have heard outstanding feedback from alumni and I do not regret my decision.

Fees

For international applicants, there are sports, science, math, English, and many more scholarships available to them. The tuition fee for my program was $9822 I was happy about that because it fit in my budget. I was not awarded a scholarship as I did not apply for one at the time I was applying. I did not take any loans.

Overview

I liked this particular college due to the reputation of the science program. This school is very prestigious and has a medical and dental school on the campus itself. There are many opportunities to get involved whether it be for co-curricular activities or academics.

Fees

The fee structure in the first year is around almost $20,000 which includes residence, food, and tuition. There are some hidden fees that students have to pay such as the science donation fee, as well as the yearly bus pass.

Overview

The program at Western offers a general first year instead of immediate specialization in the discipline of Engineering of your choice. This allowed me to experience a little bit of them all in order to better decide which one I actually want to specialize in.

Fees

My tuition for my program is almost double that of most students in other faculties. They tell us it's so they can offer us the best technological and engineering resources, but I think it's because we are on the only faculties that can fund a job right after undergrad, meaning we should pay for this luxury. The financial breakdown as far as tuition is very vague. About 13,600 goes to tuition. The remaining 1.4K is listed out to include the Health Plan, Dental Plan, Faculty Donation, and more than I honestly don't know.

FAQs

Ques. Which university should I choose, University of Western Ontario or Ryerson University? I have been admitted to the Faculty of Engineering.

● Top Answer By Maria Lee on 06 Apr 23

Ans. Choosing between universities can be a tough decision, but here are some factors to consider when deciding between the University of Western Ontario and Ryerson University for the Faculty of Engineering: Program Offerings: Both universities offer a range of engineering programs, but it's important to look at the specific programs that interest you. Consider the program curriculum, course options, and the types of hands-on experiences available. Location: The location of the university can be an important factor to consider. The University of Western Ontario is located in London, a smaller city in southwestern Ontario, while Ryerson University is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Consider what type of environment you prefer, as well as transportation options and cost of living. Campus Culture: Each university has its own unique campus culture, so it's important to consider which one will be the best fit for you. Look at factors such as campus size, student life, extracurricular activities, and campus diversity. Reputation: While both universities are well-respected, the University of Western Ontario is consistently ranked higher in overall university rankings. However, Ryerson University has a strong reputation for its engineering programs and its connections to the industry. Career Opportunities: It's important to consider the career opportunities available to you after graduation. Research what types of companies and industries recruit from each university, and what career support services are available. The decision between the University of Western Ontario and Ryerson University will depend on your individual preferences and goals. Consider all of these factors and visit each campus if possible to get a better sense of which university is the best fit for you.Read more
