Mr. Nishant Tripathi is the current serving Chairman (BG), SSIPMT Raipur and Secretary (Shri Gangajali Education Society [SGES]), Bhilai. He holds an MBA from Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology [SSCET], and B.E in Civil Engineering from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg. He holds a vast experience in the field of education. He has been a film producer and has produced Chhattisgarh's first Bollywood film. He has also been Society Member, (Krishna Education Society), Freelance writer and Photographer.

Transferring and imparting all my knowledge into learning for my students

Education plays a pivotal role in the social, economic, and cultural development of a Nation. It is considered sacred enough to refrain from considering/ calling it an industry. My experience in the domain spans over two decades, and my entire career to this day has been dedicated to this field. Right from the beginning, I have been deeply consumed with just one thought on my mind: Transferring and imparting all my knowledge into learning for my students. I have always staunchly believed that the teachers possess the power of influencing and igniting minds. 

Recently, as the Chairman of SSIPMT, I realized that my responsibilities have catapulted into a different zone altogether. My responsibility has gone beyond my students and extends to the society and nation too. I derive this feeling from the words of Swami Vivekananda. His words “Arise, Awake and Stop Not Till the Goal is reached '' are deeply etched on my mind.

We dream of painting a New India, the India that shines bright in the whole world

There are myriad challenges that lie ahead of me. However, as Chairman, the most daunting challenges that I face are: Transforming students into industry-ready professionals, Instilling the right mix of technical, ethical, and interpersonal skills in the students.

SSIPMT Raipur and I have the same vision – “We dream of painting a New India, the India that shines bright in the whole world”.

A paradigm shift from ‘Paathshaala to Prayogshala’ has become the hallmark of the institute

In its 11th year, SSIPMT has continued its growth multi-dimensionally. A paradigm shift from ‘Paathshaala to Prayogshala’ has become the hallmark of the institute. Together with academic excellence, SSIPMT has set grounds for industry-academia interaction and linkages and has established Centers of Excellence and Incubation centers with Intel, Tessolve Semiconductor, and other such industry giants. Additionally, we have initiated with Startups, registered patents and are all preparatory for Product Making and Distribution. 

SSIPMT Raipur has the prized distinction of being one of the youngest Institutes in Central India that has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. With such a prestigious recognition and so much to offer in SSIPMT Raipur, there is no need for the students to look beyond Raipur.

I am proactive in my approach, and students find me readily available at all times

I am a friend, a philosopher, a guide, an elder brother, and a mentor to my students. I am proactive in my approach, and students find me readily available at all times. I reside in the institute’s campus to make sure students can reach me 24X7. In the institute, I keep visiting classes at a regular interval to take stock of each and everything.

An institute that imparts innovation driven education is what the future holds

I foresee my Institute to be a premier technical institute in the country that imparts innovation-driven education to nurture value-based competent future professionals.

Research and Development is another key area that is the prime focus for SSIPMT Raipur. The institute has now entered into version 2.0, where we have focused on innovative practices in teaching and learning. 

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

To the youth and aspiring students, my suggestions would be to Stick to your values and ethics. They should be focused in grooming their personality and communication skills to be a confident and responsible person. They should respect their parents, teachers, and elders. Having said that they should carry a sense of patriotism and do something worthwhile for the country.
