Here’s a detailed view of VIT’s course curriculum, exams, teaching methods, and attendance rules based on my experience: Course Curriculum: - Difficulty Level: - The curriculum is designed to be challenging, especially in technical courses like CSE, IT, and ECE, but it's manageable if you stay on top of your studies. Concepts related to machine learning, data structures, algorithms, and software development require consistent effort. - For someone from a strong math or programming background, the initial semesters are quite manageable, but it gets tougher in the later stages with more practical applications and projects. - Do Students Fail?: - Yes, students do fail if they don't prepare well or miss assignments. However, it’s not common unless you completely ignore studies. The grading system offers chances to recover with internal assessments and practical marks. Good and Bad Aspects of the Course: - Good Aspects: 1. The course offers up-to-date topics like AI, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing. 2. Practical knowledge is emphasized through projects and lab work. 3. The freedom to choose electives allows you to tailor your learning to your interests. - Bad Aspects: 1. Some subjects can be theory-heavy and less focused on practical applications. 2. The credit system sometimes forces students to take unnecessary subjects to complete their credits. 3. The strict attendance policies can become a burden, even if you're otherwise performing well academically. Exams: - Number of Exams: - There are typically three main exams each semester: 1. CAT 1 (Continuous Assessment Test) – usually after a month into the semester. 2. CAT 2 – around the middle of the semester. 3. FAT – at the end of the semester, covering the entire syllabus. In addition to these, there are frequent quizzes, assignments, and lab exams. Daily Classes & Timings: - Number of Classes: - On average, there are 4 to 6 classes a day, depending on your timetable and electives. - Class Timings: - Classes typically start at 8:00 AM and go on until 3:00 or 4:00 PM. Some days are lighter, ending by 12:00 or 1:00 PM. - Free Time: - After 4 PM, most students have free time, which they use for extracurriculars, self-study, or group projects. VIT has a strong culture of club activities and hackathons, which are great to participate in during this time. Teaching Methodology: - Teaching Style: - Faculty members usually follow a mix of theoretical lectures with practical lab sessions. - Some use interactive tools and coding challenges in class to make learning more engaging, while others stick to more traditional methods like PowerPoint presentations and assignments. - Admired Faculty: 1. Prof. Siva Rama Krishnan: I admire them for their engaging teaching style and real-world examples that make difficult concepts easy to grasp. 2. Prof. Swarna Priya R.M: Their support for projects and innovative ideas is highly appreciated. They give students the freedom to explore beyond the syllabus. - Not-so-admired Faculty: 1. Prof. Bimal : Their lectures are often monotonous and focus too much on theory, making it hard to apply the knowledge practically. 2. Prof. Gunasekaran and Prof. Gnanavignesh: Lack of interaction and rigid teaching style make it hard for students to ask questions or participate actively. Mandatory Attendance Rule: - Attendance Requirement: - Yes, VIT has a strict 75% minimum attendance requirement. Failing to meet this requirement can prevent you from sitting for the final exams. - Consequences of Low Attendance: - If you don't meet the attendance criteria, you may be denied the chance to take the final exams, and it’s not uncommon for students to get penalized this way. In some cases, re-tests or special permissions can be requested, but it’s not guaranteed. - I have seen students being penalized for low attendance, which forced them to repeat the semester or lose out on their preferred electives. In conclusion, VIT’s course structure is balanced but challenging. The mandatory attendance rules and rigorous exam schedule keep students on their toes, but the variety in teaching methodologies and the availability of electives make it a rewarding experience if managed well.

The campus infrastructure of christ university is facinating including a common meetup point for students in the centre of college and the game room in basemesnt is exiting for students like who wanted to play pool , carrom foose ball , . sports facilities in college is also very gokd which include vell maintained football turf , basket ball court , badminton court , table tennis room , kabbaddi court , long jump pit , as well as dance room . . the college do have a gym but the asses to the gym is only for the hostlers not for day boarders .the auditorium and library of the college is must to visit the cleaniliness and infratructure is so sofesticated students have to be in their uniform to access both the places and ghave to punch thier id cards in the biomatrix scanner for entry , the library also has a locker room so that the belongings of the students are safe outside library . the college capmus is big enought to take almost 2 hrs to visit every place while the college have the hostels inside the college campus and the farthest pg is also just 800 metres away from the campus . so students generally prefer to travel by foot and for far living localites there are bus services by the college . the college doesents promotes overnight stays of relatives or parents inside the campus and students are not allowed to go outside campus after 9 pm and studrnts vehechles need to be removed from campus by 9 pm after that no outsider can assess college facilities . the canteen inside the campus consist of a very large area for the students to sit togather and eat with multiple food option at differest stalls inside the campus . the college have a medical centre for students not feeling well or having medical issues , the doctors and nurses inside the campus are well qualified there are three medical rooms in each building and over night facilities for hostlers , including blue form to secure attendence of ill student and red form so that girl facing munsturation can take a leave for rest and secure her attendence .The overall campus life is very good as for the student the friendly environment helps them to coupe aesily and the peers help in competing in fests and examination . the night life of the college is upto 9 pm but till the tiem there are jamming sessions and some time there are open mic forums including standup comedy but sad part is the caffeteria is closed till the time else it would have given flovours in the performances . . the students can be seen roaming arround till 11 pm till the pg allowed them to go out only the hostlers cant be seen on the streets after 9 but the surrounding near the college is entirely of pg students very rearly populated by family household so it is safe waling in the streets late night . . the major fest and culture in the colle are darpan and linguistic cultere in darpan students compete within the department to win excludive prices which include several events like singing , dancing , rangoli making , instruments , and even e sport events including VALORANT , BGMI , FIFA CODM , etc . while in the linguistic fest students wears their traditional outfit and there are several events like open mic in reginol lang uage thir cultural songs dance , etc . . college doesent promotes invinting cebs in fest it believes in uts students to conduct as well as they can to make the fest memorable . . the SWO ( student welfare organization ) and SC ( student council , ) and NCC are imp clums and committee in the campus ehic contains 3 credits each which helps in builing resume an cv

Course Curriculum is relatively moderate in difficulty, as the course curriculum is outdated (both blessing and a curse), asa result there are plenty of resources available online to study from, Good Aspects is that everything is standardized without any experimental courses, bad thing is that our uni is delusional about the IT industry & the tech stacks, there are 2 mids (sessionals) each semester, One final exam per each semester, usually in one year (except final) you can expect around 10-12 courses and 4-5 labs, Teaching Methodology is Reading PDF aloud in class or Scrolling PPT or in worst cases, scrolling screenshots of Recorded YouTube videos of someone else, Usually classes are from 10-4 PM with one hour lunch break, Elective class is at evening that is 4-5PM in odd semesters, they have also introduced NPTEL Swayam MOOC elective courses now tho, Yeah the attendance rule is tight at 75% for guys and 70% for girls (5% relaxation for period leaves), you can put a medical/ NSS thing and manage with 60% total attendance, however it varies from HoD to HoD and department to department, I have friends with 70% attendance from a department who weren't allowed to given exams to friends with 10% attendance who gave final exams and passed all subjects, so a broad generalisation can't be done

The course curriculum is not difficult that's if you study. Yes some students fail exam due to lack of interest. The good aspect is the faculties teach so well And the bad aspect is the calculations subjects are somehow hard. In a semester we have 3 exams and in a year we have 6 exams. We have 4 lectures in a day with a timing of 1hr each subject. We Re normally free from 11:00 to 11:25. The teachers teach through PPTs. I admire my operations Research Teach because she knows her subject area very well and controlled the class. I like all my teachers. Each student should have 75% attendance and failure to have it, will not sit to the final exam. I have seen students been detained because of the less attendance

We have sport facilities like football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and baseball lounge. We college have provided all the facilities needed. Yes th college have GYM but not all the facilities are there. No the campus does not have a swimming pool. We have library but not auditorium. We only have a hall. The library is easily accessible. The timing is from 9:00am to 4:30pm. No one can't get to third party database. The college have two campus and the second campus is bigger than the 1st one. The distance is about 5 to 10 minutes working on foot. Most students travel by bus only and some by two wheelers. Yes it's allowed to keep personal bikes and car on campus. Your relatives can't visit you at hostel overnight. There are other food joints in the campus about 4 to 5. The college does not have any medical centre. The overall campus life is excellent and adventurous. Students mostly go to the gym or canteen we they're free. The night life of the college nothing special is just like other normal life. Canteens are not open at night. I don't see Students roaming in the campus during at night. The students mostly go out of the campus on weekends basis to eat out at the malls or go for partying. The Locality is not safe for roaming at night because it's a village. The campus annually conduct a festival called Khosis where everyone participate. The campus vibe during the event is always colourful and nice. I don't know the names of the celebrities. We have clubs like, CSR, Event on Air, Travelling and Adventure, literally and sport clubs. Unfortunately I'm not part of any. I think CSR club is the best for students. I don't know of any program called international immersion.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not achieve 100% placement internship. The college give chance to the students themselves to look for companies but national and international or online internships. Approximately 75% get paid internship. The highest stipend offer is Rs.20000 the average is Rs.10000 and the lowest is Rs.7000. The most preferred companies for my course are manufacturing, textiles and sales companies. Because this companies deal with management. The manufacturing the manufacturing companies are the ones that higher in bulk. And they pay in Approximately 10k. I have no idea about PPOs Some courses like MLS and Pharmacy fine it difficult because of lack of places to do their internship. Is worse than my department.

Ques. How good is Amity University for a BBA?

● Top Answer By Advait Joshi on 18 Aug 23

Ans. My brother recently completed his BBA from Amity University and gave me an overview of the scenario. Here is a short review of the college Campus and Location: Amity University has an amazing campus life thanks to its huge campus and location. It's located in close proximity to Delhi and Noida. The campus has great facilities making the academic experience better. Academics: Here, students have to depend mostly on self-study as the faculty has no passion for teaching.  Crowd: The crowd quality is great and you will be surrounded by an elite pool of students hailing from the NCR Region. The fests are organized at a huge level and students get to experience amazing campus life.  Return on Investment: The institute offers a very low ROI. you will end up spending a lot of money with not very good placements. So, it's advisable to start preparing for an MBA right from the first year. Most companies coming for BBA students are BPO and KPO.  So, Amity University is a great choice if you have no financial constraints and are looking for a vibrant college life. Read more

● Top Answer By Aryan Thapar on 26 Aug 21

Ans. Any institute will help you with an arrangement of opportunities, may even get you a job in Finance or Management but it will be your decision, whether you'd want to pursue other interests or be in the job available.  The package offered by IPM would definitely be lower than the one offered by the Engineering+MBA (IIM) program. It will nevertheless give you entrepreneurial skills that can be used if you'd like to and create your own empire. Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, graduated from Manipal Institute of Technology. Ques. Is the IPM course at IIM Indore better than doing engineering, followed by management in top IIMs?

● Top Answer By Himani Gupta on 20 Aug 21

Ans. If you are willing to pursue MBA after the completion of your engineering then IPM is the good option for you as you can complete your IPM in five years while engineering and MBA together will be for the entire six years. If you go for IPM, you will have one year of job experience after six years.  In the IPM program, you will get to learn relevant courses in the undergraduate (first three years), while the things you will learn in engineering, will not be of much use in an MBA.  IPM gives you a chance of doing an MBA from an IIM. If you want you can also attempt CAT to get into another IIM, after 3 years of the course.  If you are determined to do an MBA after gaining some experience, then IPM gives that option too. After two years of the IPM program, you will have the chance to work for two years. After that, you can come back and pursue your MBA from IIM Indore. Read more
