BTech program at IIT Kharagpur is offered in 15 specializations with an intake capacity of 784. Candidates who have passed class 12 with science stream, qualified JEE Main & Advanced examination can get admission to the course. The cutoff range for the BTech program is 200-5000 marks in the JEE Advanced examination.

IIT Kharagpur B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with minimum required marks.

IIT Kharagpur B.Tech Selection Criteria

• Considering the 12th exam results, JEE Main and JEE Advanced/ AAT score, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing All India Rank (AIR) of candidates. 
• Candidates have to register for counseling online at the official JoSAA website. Choice filling and locking are mandatory and it is to be done by the candidate only. In decreasing the order of preference, branch choices are to be filled.

IIT Kharagpur BTech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIT Kharagpur BTech Cutoff 2023 will be released soon by JoSAA. Admissions will be granted on the basis of cutoff marks for respective specialization of the BTech program. The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Advanced examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. The expected JEE Advanced cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

IIT Kharagpur MTech program is offered in 64 specializations including the major streams such as CSE, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. Candidates with a valid GATE score are eligible to apply for admission through COAP counseling.

IIT Kharagpur M.Tech Eligibility

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ M.Sc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE etc.) with minimum aggregate marks of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD).

• Final-year students who are awaiting their results can also apply.
• The students must have a valid score in GATE.

Candidates applying for IIT Kharagpur MTech program must appear for the GATE examination followed by COAP counseling. Candidates acquiring the set cutoff scores will be eligible to participate in the counseling session. Once the candidate gets into IIT Kharagpur through counseling, the institute then conducts interview rounds for the final selections. IIT Kharagpur M.Tech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIT Kharagpur also offers integrated program in M.Sc+Ph.D in 7 specializations in regular mode. The basic eligibility of each program is Bachelors’ Degree in relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks. IIT Kharagpur Integrated M.Sc+Ph.D Selection Criteria

• Selection is based on the performance in JAM, according to the All India rank (AIR) assigned by the organising institute.
• JAM qualified candidates have to appear in CCMN Counselling
• NO additional requirements, such as written test or interview, are needed for admission into IIT KGP.

• Applicants shall have to apply by filling an online Application Form at JOAPS website, paying a processing fee of INR 600.  
• Intimation will be sent by the Organizing Institute to the candidates regarding seat allocation during any rounds of counselling. 
• If a qualified candidate is allotted a seat through the First Admission List, they need to pay the admission fee and confirm their seat. 
• Candidates have to reach IIT KGP with original documents with hard copies for further admission procedure.

IIT Kharagpur Joint MSc-PhD Seats 2023

IIT Kharagpur MSc+PhD Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIT Kharagpur offers a 2-year MBA program in 5 specializations with an intake capacity of 170 students. The classes for the program are held at Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM). The fee for the entire program is INR 9.29 Lacs. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Kharagpur MBA program must appear for the CAT examination and then for the PI round conducted at VGSoM only for final admissions. 

IIT Kharagpur MBA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the IIT Kharagpur MBA program must fulfill the below-given eligibility criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree of minimum 4-years duration in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or similar discipline. OR
• Master’s degree in Science/ Economics/ Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level).
• The minimum percentage required for admission is 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10 points for the GE/NC-OBC.
• For the SC/ST/PWD, a minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale is required for admission.
• Candidates appearing for the final year’s examination are also eligible to apply for admission. 

IIT Kharagpur MBA Selection Criteria

The selection criteria at IIT Kharagpur for the MBA program are based on CAT exam scores and Personal interview marks. The entire selection criteria of the institute are divided into 2 parts: 

Stage 1: Shortlisting for the PI round 

In this stage, the candidates are shortlisted for the PI round based on the CAT exam scores, application rating (AR), and Gender Diversity Factor (GDF). The minimum CAT percentile required for the PI round is:

• General: 90
• NC-OBC: 80
• SC: 75
• ST: 75
• PWD: 75

The application rating (AR) is calculated on a scale of 20 whereby the candidates are given marks based on their performance in class 10, 12, Graduation, Post Graduation & Work experience (if any).

​Application Rating based on Classes X and XII marks 

Another factor in the stage 1 process is Gender Diversity Factor (GDF). The female candidates here are given 2 marks each. However, the GDF component is not considered for the final composite score calculation.

IIT KGP will also consider the duration of graduate-level work experience for shortlisting. 

Stage II: Final Selection

The final selection is based on the cumulative score of the application rating (AR), CAT exam score, and marks obtained by the candidate in the PI round. The weightage given to all 3 factors is 20, 40, and 40, respectively.

IIT Kharagpur (IIT KGP) offers 3-year Executive MBA programme (EMBA) for working executives through VGSoM.

IIT Kharagpur EMBA Eligibility 

To be eligible for admission to the Executive MBA program the candidates must possess at least 3 years of experience and a 1st class Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology or a 1st class Masters degree in Science, Economics or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics.

A minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) in the qualifying exam.

IIT Kharagpur EMBA Selection Criteria

Selection will be done through a written examination followed by an interview at Kolkata. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates will be as per the GOI rules applicable to IIT Kharagpur.

MHRM Admission Process

There are total 38 seats for MHRM. Admission will be done on the Basis of CAT. Candidates has to apply on official website. Selected candidates then called for Personal Interview. 

Final Selection will be done on the Basis of CAT score + PI + academic details.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) is jointly offered by IIT KGP, ISI Kolkata and IIM Calcutta. It is a 2-year full-time residential course. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PwD) is the basic eligibility 

IIT Kharagpur PGDBA Selection Criteria

Admission to this course will be done on the basis of the Entrance test conducted by the institute itself which is followed by Personal Interview. IITKGP offers LLB, LL.M & MMST courses at PG level in regular full-time mode. IIT Kharagpur Law courses are offered through Rajiv Gandhi Scool of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) IITKGP conducts its own Entrance Test to offer admission in the above-mentioned programs, followed by an Interview. 

Key Points:

• For LL.M and LL.B programs, fill the application form online on payment of INR 3000 (INR 1500 for SC/ST/ PWDs).
• Online Entrance Test for LL.M will be conducted at Delhi, Raipur, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Vishakhapatnam and Hyderabad. The test will hold total 120 MCQs related to Legal Aptitude.

Entrance Exam

The candidates will have to appear for the written examination consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) divided into two parts:

• Computer Based test
• Interview (Online)

The weightage is given to each part of 70% and 30% respectively. LLB Written test will comprise of Mathematics, Science, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Logical Reasoning, and Legal Aptitude. LLM written test will have questions based on BCI approved LLB Syllabus. There will be no negative marking for both LLB and LLM entrance exam. The marks given to each section is given below:

• Mathematics 15 marks
• Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) 35 marks
• English 60 marks
• Logical Reasoning 20 marks
• Legal Aptitude 70 marks

Candidates qualifying in the Computer-based Test (CBT) will have to appear for the interview round. Candidates appearing for the interview round will be examined on Communication skills, Interest in pursuing courses, and Legal Aptitude. The marks allotted to each factor is as follows:

• Communication Skill: 10 marks
• Interest in pursuing course: 10 marks (Students will be assessed on their career goals, how the degree will improve their future plans, and the expectations therein.)
• Legal Aptitude: 10 marks (Situation-based questions may be asked. Students will be evaluated based on their ability to analyse the situation in a structured manner based on logic.)

IIT Kharagpur offers the two-year M.Arch (Master’s in Architecture) at the postgraduate level/ for admission to the program, candidates need to appear for the GATE entrance examination.

IIT Kharagpur M.Arch Eligibility Criteria

• B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch degree with at least 60% marks from a recognized university or institute. 
• A valid score in the GATE entrance examination.

IIT Kharagpur M.Arch Selection Criteria

Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of GATE scores which is further followed by the COAP counseling process.

IIT Kharagpur offers a five-year dual degree (B.Tech+MBA) program in various specializations. On successful completion of the program, students are awarded a degree in B.Tech and MBA provided the students maintain a certain CGPA during the program. Admission to the program is done through JEE 

IIT Kharagpur B.Tech+MBA Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to the B.Tech+MBA dual degree program, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with 75% marks from a recognized board of education. 

IIT Kharagpur B.Tech+MBA Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected on the basis of JEE Main and JEE Advanced rank which is further followed by the JoSAA counseling process.

IIT Kharagpur offers the five-year Integrated M.Sc (B.Sc+M.Sc) program in 6 specializations, namely, Applied Geology, Chemistry, Economics, Exploration Geophysics, Mathematics & Computing, and Physics. On successful completion of the program, students will earn a degree in both B.Sc and M.Sc. For admission to the program, candidates need to appear for JEE Advanced. 

IIT Kharagpur Integrated M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with at least 75% marks (65% for SC, ST and PwD candidates) from a recognized board of education.
• Students must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

IIT Kharagpur Integrated M.Sc Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of JEE Main and JEE Advanced cutoff set by the institute. The final selection will be done through the JoSAA counseling. Seats are allocated on the basis of rank in JEE Advanced, availability of seats, categories, and other factors.

IIT Kharagpur Integrated M.Sc Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IITKGP offers admission to Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines at Doctoral level. Ph.D. program is offered in four categories, i.e, Regular with Institute Assistantship, PhD with Fellowship (INSPIRE/ UGC NET), Sponsored PhD and PhD through sponsored Research Project. IIT KGP offers 21 specializations each for Ph.D and PDF program. 

IIT Kharagpur PhD & PDF Eligibility 

• Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying degree in Engineering /Science /Commerce /Management/ Law and/or equivalent

IIT Kharagpur PhD & PDF Selection Criteria

Admission is offered on the basis of Department-Based Test followed by Academic Performance and Work Experience and Interview. GATE/ NET/ CSIR/ UGC or SLET qualified candidates are also eligible for admission. The admission panel will also consider candidates’ Academic Record and Interview Performance while producing the final merit list.
