Remarks :
The admission process requires JEE Mains exams which have to be qualified, the application process can be found on the josaa website along with the application form. The process is online and easy. Cut-offs for my course are above the 98 percentile in JEE Mains exams, and the candidate must have appeared for class 12th boards for the first time the previous year or must be appearing for the first time in the year of the Jee exam. Reservation benefits a lot. Like cut-off for OBC Females was 97 percentile, which makes a huge difference when so many people are appearing for the entrance exam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
B.tech, CSE from NIT Silchar had good reviews along with a good average package. Faculty to student ratio is good. All facilities have Ph. D.s and are experienced. Their teaching methods are unique and understandable. Mid-term exams are 2.5 months in the term and end-term exams are after 5 months. Exams are fairly easy to pass if subjects are studied constantly.
Internships Opportunities :
Training and Placement Cell starts providing internships to eligible students from the 5th semester onwards. The companies that offer internships are Master Card, Oracle, City Bank, and many others. Well-performing interns get pre-placement offers by companies.
Placement Experience :
Recruitment starts from the 7th semester and there is a Training and Placement Cell that oversees the placement process. Some of the companies that visited for placements are Amazon, Microsoft, Byju's, Paytm, Mahindra, Myntra, IBM, and Oracle. Almost 600 offers were made by these companies. Placement percentage is 89.41%. average package is 14.29 lakhs, median package is 12 lakhs and highest package offered is 80 lakhs. I plan to secure a job with a multinational company for a good package and work in the IT sector.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The hostel fees have been increased significantly. I did not get any scholarship or financial assistance on campus. The fees are affordable when compared to that of the same course at other colleges. However, there are no scholarships provided by the college.
Campus Life :
The annual cultural fest is named Incandescence, held in February and the tech fest is named Technoesis, organized in October. The college houses Asia's Largest Library. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and screens. The labs have all the required equipment and computer systems. There is a sports club, trekking club, and cricket club and competitions are organized for football, badminton, and other sports.
Hostel Facilities :
The on-campus hostel provides a secure environment with basic facilities. The rooms are a bit crowded. There's a washing machine facility and geyser. Meal quality and menu is the major downside. The quality of food served is not good. The registration process for a hostel is included in the registration for the semester.
