NIT SILCHAR LIFESTYLE

Remarks :

Admissions are done on the basis of your jee mains rank, further proceeded by jossa and csab counseling. You should have 75% or above in 12th or you should lie in the top 20 percentile of your respective boards. Reservations are based on the categories(EWS, OBC NCL, SC, ST, etc). 20% of supernumerary seats are reserved for females in each branch.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My course is EIE. I have chosen this course because this sector is developing day by day and career opportunities are enhanced. Our faculty is very good and they used to teach in a very simple manner. Their knowledge is very good and the technique they used to explain everything is excellent. It is difficult to pass the exams with one night of studying before the exams without listening to the lectures.

Internships Opportunities :

From 3rd year the internships start and 25% of each branch gets an internship. After that most of the students get pre-placement offers for the job, this is a very good point in the NIT Silchar. The students who have a good CGPA in the third year get early internships.

Placement Experience :

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees for GEN candidates are too high but for the students with reservation is quite affordable. The hostel fees are the same for all the candidates. TFW will be given on the basis of category and student family income. All the scholarships are available for all the students but only on the basis of the criterion of the scholarship.

Campus Life :

Life on campus is very good and the nature of this campus is beautiful. There are two festivals in the college that is 1st is the cultural fest which is also known as the biggest cultural fest in the northeast and the name of the fest is INCANDESCENCE, and the 2nd one is the Technical fest which is known as TECHNOESIS. There are so many clubs in the college based on your interest. NIT Silchar also has the ASIA's biggest digital library and the books are always available in the library and all kind of books are available in the books. The infrastructure of classrooms and the hostel is not so well.

Hostel Facilities :

The facility of the hostel is not too well. Firstly in the first year rooms and hostels are allotted on the basis of your JEE MAIN rank and later on from the second year rooms and hostels are allowed on the basis of CGPA/SGPA. The facility of meals is also not good but the quantity of nonveg on the menu is more than the veg because as you know in the northeast the intake of nonveg is more and the quality of food is not well.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

Placement Experience:

Till now placement percentage is at a good level. From 6th semester students became eligible for placements. Most of the students get placed. From what I have heard short listing of candidates is based on cgpa basis. Skills are most important to go to software companies.

Placement Experience:

The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.
