DElEd is a 2-year diploma course designed to provide education and train teachers for primary-level teaching. Assam DElEd Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

For admission to the DElEd course in Assam, every candidate needs to satisfy the eligibility criteria set by the authority. 

The candidate must be an Indian national and a permanent resident of Assam state.

Educational Qualifications:

• The candidate must have passed Class 12th or Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional.
• There would be a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for candidates belonging to the SC/ST(P)/ST(H) category.
• He/she must have the ability to write, read and converse fluently in the regional language.

Age Limit:

• Minimum 18 years and not more than 34 years as on January 01, 2023.
• The upper age limit is 36 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H) categories.

The application form has to be filled out online on the official website of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam. The students can pay the application fees in online mode only. Interested candidate needs to follow the following steps in order to apply for DElEd course in Assam:

• Open the official website of the State Council of Educational Research And Training (SCERT), Assam.
• Fill out the application form at the given link for DElEd Admissions. 
• Candidates should carefully go through all the instructions and check the eligibility criteria, then proceed to fill the application form.
• Upload the required documents along with the form and application fee before the due date.
• After filling out the application form successfully along with payment of fees, a registration ID and password will be generated.
• The admit card for the entrance exam will be issued before the exam.
• Once the Pre-Entry-Test (PET) is conducted, the merit list will be released. The names of the candidates will appear in the merit list based on marks/rank. 
• The candidates who are on the merit list will have to go through the counseling process and seat allotment process.

• The candidates whose names are enlisted in the merit list will be called for the counseling process. 
• The Merit List will be prepared in accordance with the merit obtained in Pre-Entry-Test (PET) and marks secured in HSSLC/Bachelor's degree examination.
• Merit list will be prepared according to each district and allotment will be made in Teacher Education Institutes in the districts as per the availability of seats and merit. The waiting list is also prepared
• Once the seats are allocated, the candidates are required to report at the designated center within the specified dates and timings with the proper documents for verification.

There are a total of 3300 seats for candidates who wish to pursue the DElEd course in Assam. As per the norms of the Government of Assam. Reservation of seats is available for :

• SC

• ST(H)

Reservation on the basis of educational background is as follows:

• 30% seats for candidates with science stream.
• 70% seats for candidates from other streams.
