In order to be eligible for B.Sc (Hons.) admission at BHU, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc (Hons) Maths Group in BHU have to appear for CUET (UG) 2023. They are required to opt for Section II: 1. Physics; 2. Chemistry; 3. Maths for admission to BHU. Candidates who will not appear section II: 1. Physics; 2. Chemistry; 3. Maths, will not be considered for admission to BHU.
B.Sc (Hons.) Biology
Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc (Hons) Biology Group in BHU have to appear for CUET (UG). They are required to opt for Section II: 1. Physics; 2. Chemistry; 3. Biology for admission to BHU. Candidates who will not appear Section II: 1. Physics; 2. Chemistry; 3. Biology, will not be considered for admission to BHU.
B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture
Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture in BHU have to appear for CUET (UG). They are required to opt for Section II (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths OR Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Biology, Chemistry and Agriculture) for admission to BHU. Candidates who will not appear in Section II (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths OR Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Biology, Chemistry and Agriculture), will not be considered for admission to BHU.
BHU B.Sc Application Process
Candidates applying for B.Sc (Hons.) in BHU are required to apply for the CUET on the official website of NTA. The application process for CUET is as follows:
- Candidates must visit the official CUET website - cuet.samarth.ac.in.
- Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it.
- After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button.
- After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully.
- After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents.
- Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
- After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future references.
- Candidates can login to their portals for any new updates, college cutoffs and so forth.

BHU B.Sc Entrance Exam
Admission to the B.Sc program of BHU is will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA. The exam will be conducted in online mode as a computer-based test mode. The duration of the exam varies as per the course opted by the candidate.
CUET Question Paper consists of objective-type questions. Candidates can attempt the entrance test in 13 languages namely, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu. As per CUET Exam Pattern, CUET consists of the following four sections.

- The B.Sc program of the Banaras Hindu University is divided into two groups, the B.Sc Maths group, and the B.Sc Bio group.
- There are 7 subjects available for the students of each of Maths and Bio group.
- The course is divided into six semesters in three years.
- Students must study common courses for the B.Sc course in the initial semesters and can later switch to their preferred topic as per their admission group.

BHU B.Sc Coursework
In each semester, all students must accumulate at least 22 credits except for the fifth semester which requires only 21 credits. The last semester consists of one project/fieldwork that offers four credits. The credit distribution is explained in the below table.

BHU B.Sc Scholarships
Under the Student welfare fund, BHU provides various financial aids to the students in need. We have listed some of them below.
- 50 poor students are provided free meals (INR 10 per meal) at the Annapurna Bhojnalaya of the university for seven months. In the case of needy female students residing in hostels, their respective mess fees for the period are reimbursed. Blind students are also entitled tothis aid.
- Admittedly, blind students are provided with a financial aid of INR 5000 per anum.
- 100 students from poor backgrounds are granted assistance of INR 2000 per year.
- 25 differently ablest students are provided with one-time assistance of Rs 4000.
- First and second rank holders of the university are entitled to financial assistance of INR 4000 and INR 3000 respectively.
- Additionally, all students are eligible for limited grants for participation and organizing seminars and workshops.

Ques. Can I pursue B.Sc. Physics at BHU?
Ans. Yes. For all specializations in the pure sciences, students need to secure admission in the Math group of the Banaras Hindu University. After some common courses, students can pursue any course of their interest among the listed main courses for their admission group.
Ques. Where is B.Sc offered at BHU?
Ans. In the faculty of science of BHU, students from both Math group and Bio group are taught in the co-ed mode. Only female students of these courses are taught in the Mahila Mahavidyalaya.
Ques. What is the cut-off for B.Sc admission at BHU?
Ans. For the first counseling of the 2020-21 session, the cut-off rank for the B.Sc Mathematics group for unreserved candidates was 203. For the B.Sc Biology group, unreserved candidates having a rank up to 351 are invited to take part in the first round of counseling.
Ques. What are the reservation criteria for admission to B.Sc at BHU?
Ans. The usual reservation policies of the government of India are applicable at the BHU UET. 15% of the total seats in each course are reserved for the scheduled cast students while 7.5% of the seats are reserved for students belonging to the scheduled tribes. There are also some supplementary seats reserved for wards of BHU employees.
