Remarks :

Basically, I cleared JEE Mains which was conducted twice that year. The first attempt was in January and the 2nd attempt was in May. Then I cleared JEE Advanced which was held on 4th July 2022. Application forms will be available on the office website of nta for JEE Mains and for advanced, it will be available on the official website of the IIT which is conducting the exam..for example in our case, IIT Guwahati's official website.

Course Curriculum Overview :

For first-year students, IITG has divided us into divisions which have 3 to 4 branches and conduct classes according to morning classes or evening classes. We don't have our classes with department subjects for 1st year. Labs and tutorials are conducted accordingly. The faculties are great here. Most faculties have doctorate degrees and are researchers. After 1 month of classes, quizzes will be there with some weightage for final grading. After around 2 months, mid-semester is there and then again quizzes, and finally end-sem for a semester. Exams are quite tough to crack.

Class Size : 100Course Fees : INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

For internships, a club is there that provides us with the details of internship offers from companies like Jaguar Land Rover, The Return Journey, etc. Internships will be started during the summer holidays for 3 months.

Placement Experience :

5th semester onwards, students become eligible for placement offers. There is a placement club that organizes and prepares students for placements. Popular companies like Samsung Google etc come for placement in IITG.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are divided into categories: one-time fees(non-refundable) include admission fees etc- 9550/-, one-time fees(refundable) includes caution money- 12000/-, Payable for every semester-32100/- + tuition fees(100000/-). College administration will regularly provide emails regarding upcoming scholarships from private or government bodies. There's a laptop reimbursement scheme for SC/ST students.

Campus Life :

Alcheringa is our annual fest considered to be the largest fest in North East India which will be conducted in February. Techniche is our tech fest which is also the largest fest in North East with more than 3000 participants. Workshops like AI data science, entrepreneurship, programming, and nexus are there. Spirit is our annual sports meet. The sports complex is there with every possible amenities. Lawn tennis, table tennis, cricket grounds, basketball courts, badminton courts, swimming pool, hockey, football, squash, etc. are there.

Hostel Facilities :

Rooms with double occupancy are given. A fan and LED light plus a lamp and wardrobes are provided. Meals are pretty good in the hostel mess and a special counter is provided. The registration process for the hostel will be done on the same day as the admission day.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

The College life at NIT SILCHAR

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.

Placement Experience:

The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.
