I just want to get into IITG and I got a btech civil in jossa counselling and came here for better opportunities. The student-faculty ratio is good. the Professors are amazing in their respective fields and the teaching skills are great. There is a timely exam including a quiz, mid sem and end-sem
I was interested in building things and learning about how ancient structures were built. And IIT environment is very good , you learn and explore anything beyond your group or branch Faculty student ratio is around 1:8 Faculty members are very much experienced in their field of teaching and they are very much qualified for that job , As you know iit guwahati is no.7 in nirf ranking , you cannot judge its faculty Some subject Exams were pretty much upto iit standards ( i mean tough) like maths , physics etc.., And some easy like chemistry as our college follow relative grading it depends on professor who will decide the pass marks and grading, Passing was not hard I would say 8cpi is a good grade
For first-year students, IITG has divided us into divisions which have 3 to 4 branches and conduct classes according to morning classes or evening classes. We don't have our classes with department subjects for 1st year. Labs and tutorials are conducted accordingly. The faculties are great here. Most faculties have doctorate degrees and are researchers. After 1 month of classes, quizzes will be there with some weightage for final grading. After around 2 months, mid-semester is there and then again quizzes, and finally end-sem for a semester. Exams are quite tough to crack.
A civil engineer is open to many career opportunities and handles different types of construction projects like roadways, railways, skyscrapers, urban establishments, agricultural storages etc. A civil engineer can work in the private sector as well as public service undertakings. Faculty: students ratio is good it is 25:1 All faculty are phd scholars...The course curriculum is updated and industry-friendly. They don't teach unnecessary topics. Semester exams are difficult, but if you know the tricks, you can solve every problem. Almost all students passed.
I have an interest in creating beautiful structures, so I chose this course. Faculty-student ratio 1:10, Most of the faculties are Ph.D. There are 4 exams during a semester, level of these exams are moderate, if we study every 1 to 2 hour, we can get 7.5 grade out of 10.
For Civil Engineering, IIT Guwahati will be a better option. It is among the old 7 IITs and offers good academics, placement, and faculty, for the branch. IIT Guwahati Civil Engineering placement record is good. Around 80% of students from the branch get placement opportunities. The average CTC offered to the student of this branch is around INR 17 LPA.
If you don’t have any particular inclination toward Mechanical Engineering, then Civil Engineering from IIT Guwahati will be the better choice. It is an old IIT and offers good infrastructure, faculty, and a well-developed alumni base.
According to the statistics of recent years, IIT Guwahati Civil Engineering placement statistics are pretty good. Around 80% of the students get placed each year and the average CTC offered to the students of this branch is INR 17.5 LPA.
