Remarks :

Jee mains was the criteria to get into nit Silchar. The rank secured matters and you are allotted a seat according to your preference the procedure was smooth. The officials were helpful also the seniors helped a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Electrical engineering is one of the toughest branches and has a tough and vast curriculum. The faculty is mostly good and helpful. The professors are a bit strict in terms of discipline. The ratio is quite satisfactory. They are well qualified with experience.

Class Size : 80Course Fees : INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are mostly for 3rd and 4th years, the internships vary and are for both it and core fields. companies like AWS Mastercard Citi Group come for internship offerings. The ECE and CSE dept see a maximum no of applicants.

Placement Experience :

Placements are actually satisfactory if you get your hands on the required skills it's easy to excel in the it industry. we can't expect too many core jobs. The companies visiting are top notch like Samsung Ola uber AWS etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The financial assistance is okay. The reserved categories get a full rebate on tuition fees and have to pay only for hostels. The income bar is another advantage that helps students put less burden on their families and hence do not experience a financial crunch.

Campus Life :

There are yearly fests organized. one is technical and the other is cultural. various celeb singers come and perform. The library is the biggest in Asia, it has AC and good seating arrangements sports complex is available.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

The College life at NIT SILCHAR

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.

The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.
