Remarks :

To get admission to NIT Silchar you have to qualify jee main exam. After Jee Main and Jee advance,josaa will conduct the seat allocation processes and will allot colleges based on your percentile. In my case, I got Electrical Engineering in NIT Silchar at 97.5 percentile in jee main 2022. After that seat allocation process, we have to pay the seat acceptance fee which is 35000 INR for general candidates and if we want to join the college and branch allowed we can proceed further and pay the provisional admission fee of 40000 INR.now in my case I got nit silchar so I had to fill up an extra form which was given by the NIT Authority through my email id. After that, I paid the admission and hostel fees as per the fee structure. There was a physical reporting day allowed by the college for us to report and get hostel allowed.

Course Curriculum Overview :

We have approximately 31 faculties for 160 students in the electrical engineering department. We have 2 semesters in a year and each semester is divided into 3 exams i.e. semester, minor exam, and end-semester. For an above 8.5 pointer or sgpa you have to study from day 1 but for an average sgpa of 6-8, you can score by studying 1 week before the exam.

Internships Opportunities :

There are many internship opportunities available in our college. The Training and placement cell (T&P) manages this portfolio. Many companies offered both online and offline internships mostly in the IT field in the past few years.

Placement Experience :

The placements are absolutely top-notch here. 90% of the students found campus placements. The highest package is 80 lpa(on campus). The average package stands at 15-16 Lpa and minimum package is 7Lpa. Many students also got off-campus placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is available on the NIT Silchar website and if you are from any reservation background you can easily get fee remission by producing the necessary documents. if you are a general candidate, you can get fee remission based on your annual family income For this you have to produce a family income certificate at the time of registration.

Campus Life :

The campus life of NIT Silchar is awesome and it has scenic beauty. There are over 20+ lakes on the campus. There are 3 major fests one is incandescnece ( cultural fest),technoseis(tech fest), and pose ( cultural fest of assam). Nit silchar has Asia's biggest digital library and you can easily access all the books.there are over 20+ clubs including social,cultural,sports and tech.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility is quite good(average). You can get 2 seater,3 seater, and single seater rooms based on your ranks in jee mains. The infrastructure of the rooms is quite good and you will get 5 toilets and 5 bathrooms for 40 students on one floor. Mess menu quality is average and there is a separate section for veg and nonveg items.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

The College life at NIT SILCHAR

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.

The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.
