Which college should I go with, IIT Patna CS or Thapar University CS?
IIT Patna CSE is one of the best-regarded branches of the institute and its BTech program is highly esteemed among engineering aspirants. Which one is a better option: CSE at IIEST or IT at IIITM Gwalior?
Both IIEST and IIITM Gwalior offer CSE and IT as their flagship courses respectively. The deciding factor here is which subject you are more inclined towards.
If you are passionate about CSE, then IIEST is the best option. Being the second oldest engineering college in India; it has an amazing faculty-Student ratio of 1:14 with highly qualified faculties and visiting professors from IITs, NITs, and other renowned Universities. IIEST is ranked 21st for engineering in 2020.
If your interest lies in the IT field, IIITM Gwalior must be your priority. Ranked 100 for engineering by NIRF in 2020, IITM offers IT as its flagship course.

Are courses in DTU and NSIT flexible? Can students from lower branches study a minor in C.S. easily?
As an NSUT student, the new CBCS (choice based credit system) allows you to choose your fields of study. This makes for more flexible courses. Also, NSUT has an excellent coding environment which will help you for your minor in Computer Science. Many students over there pursue coding, despite being from a branch other than IT/COE.
In DTU, you will have electives starting from 5th semester.These are department and general electives. IIIT Delhi offers the most flexible courses. Other than some fixed category credits, all the subjects are choice based.
Thus, in terms of providing flexible courses, this is the order of preference- IIITD> NSUT>DTU.
Which of the following would be a better choice, and electrical at IIT Mandi, Jodhpur, Ropar, or a CSE at IIT Dharwad, Bhilai, Goa (specific interests computer science)?
All these colleges are premier institutes of the country, and are considered to be the best to pursue engineering. At the present, CSE is the most sought-after branch as it attracts lucrative offers and quite a lot of opportunities in the market.

- IIT Mandi has been ranked 67 among top engineering colleges in India.
- IITJodhpur bagged 53 position among top IITs in India.
- IIT Ropar, on the other hand, was ranked 39 among top engineering colleges in India.

Many governments funded and internationally collaborative research projects are being carried out by the highly qualified faculty in the relatively older IITs like Mandi, Ropar and the students here get an opportunity to curate and shape innovative ideas under them. Infrastructurally they are almost at par with all facilities available, but the newer IITs like Dharwad are currently functional in transit campus so all facilities cannot be availed as of now. Hence, it is up to the student to choose a given course in a particular college.
Which is better between VIT University Bhopal Campus CSE and LNCT Bhopal IT?
LNCT Bhopal IT will be better. It is considered among the best private institutes in Bhopal. The academics and placement offered by the institute are excellent. Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, DXC, etc. are some of the major recruiters for the branch. LNCT placements are excellent for IT. During the recent placement drive, students of the branch received the highest CTC of INR 27 LPA.
How is CSE (engineering) at Barkatullah University in Bhopal?
It’s better to not join Barkatullah University. The semester examinations are not conducted in time. The results are also published late. You won’t be able to apply for Govt. examination because of that. The faculties are not good. Also, not a single company visits the campus for placement. So, it’s better to join any private university for your CSE degree rather than joining BU.
What should I choose, IIT ROPAR CSE OR IIT GANDHINAGAR CSE OR IIT Roorkee electrical?
If I had to choose from IIT Ropar, IIT Gandhinagar, and IIT Roorkee, I would have gone for IIT Ropar. Let’s compare the institutes and their branches individually.
IIT Ropar and IIT Gandhinagar (CS):
- The CS department of IIT Ropar is much older than the CS department of IIT Gandhinagar.
- IIT Ropar has 73 seats in CSE while IIT Gandhinagar has only 38, this is why the Closing rank of IIT Gandhinagar was better last year, while the Opening Rank of IIT Ropar is better.
- IIT Ropar was ranked 22 by NIRF while IIT Gandhinagar was ranked 23.
IIT Ropar CS and IIT Roorkee EE:
- Those who opt for IIT Roorkee EE will eventually end up in CS and in fact, they will have to invest double the efforts than IIT Rapor CS.
- Students who take EE will have to complete an EE course along with studying CS in their free time to prepare for placements.
- EE students will have to compete with CS students in placements because Software companies will prefer CS or ECE students over EE students.
All in all, IIT Ropar CSE offers better job opportunities, and thus the general preference order looks like
IIT Ropar CSE >> IIT Roorkee EE >~ IIT GN CSE.
Is Saveetha Engineering College best to join for a CSE?
Yes, the department of CSE in Saveetha Engineering College is good. The CSE department is mostly considered as a brand out of all other departments.
The faculty are experienced and most of them have also completed their Ph.D.
The CSE department has been inducing much awareness on the entire campus. They usually conduct several workshops. All the faculties are seen to provide their support and help with this.

What should I choose between IITBHU pharmaceutical and NITJalandhar CSE taking branch change at IITBHU into consideration? How tough will branch change be for us as the classes are likely to be online
IIT BHU is one of the top 10 IITs and is renowned for its rich alumni network and effective academic structure. But if you are interested in the CSE field, then opt for NIT Jalandhar. Institutes are equal in providing beneficial classes to students. The branch change is not that easy at II BHU; the competition level is very high, and only 10% of students with a high CGPA get the chance for a branch change. The classes will be conducted offline, which is much better than online classes. You can use the library for more references, and in-person classes are more interactive, which will help you improve your academic performance. So, it is better for you to choose NIT Jalandhar.
Shall I take the IIT, Tirupati CSE or the BITS Hyderabad CSE?
BITS Hyderabad, which is affiliated under BITS Pilani, ranked 30th by NIRF amongst top engineering colleges in India, is very well renowned for computer science. While IIT Tirupati was recently established and hasn’t been ranked yet by NIRF.

- IIT Tirupati- The permanent campus, proposed to be spread across 530 acres, is under construction as of now and students have to stay in a transit campus.
- BITS- It is spread over a lush 200 acre space. 3 Huge Fests are organised every year which see a footfall of around 3,000. Various events and competitions are also organised round the year which help in holistic development.
Placement
BITS Hyderabad
It has an average placement rate of 94% for computer science. Top recruiters are Aditya Birla Group, Microsoft, Adobe, BeeHyv, Amazon, etc. Other notable features are:
- Average CTC offered is 11 LPA
- Highest CTC offered is 40 LPA
- Around 25% students receive PPOs from companies like Google, Dell, Spikewell, Microsoft in the pre-final year
IIT Tirupati
It is relatively new, hence much detailed placement data is not yet available. Major recruiters are Envestnet Yodlee, Bosch, TCS, Honeywell, etc.
- The average package was 9.6 LPA
- Highest CTC offered was 25 LPA
Both BITS and IITs have a brand value but Tirupati being a new institute, is yet to make its mark. Faculties at both the colleges are highly qualified. Computer science is the most sought-after skill in the present industry and hence if one works hard, he/she can excel.
