Both IIT Delhi and IIT Madras are highly reputed institutes, and both have excellent electrical engineering departments. It is challenging to declare one institute as definitively better than the other as both are highly regarded and have their unique strengths. However, here are some points to consider that might help you in making a decision:
In terms of faculty, both IIT Delhi and IIT Madras have highly qualified and experienced professors, who are experts in their fields. However, the research output of IIT Delhi's electrical department is slightly higher than that of IIT Madras.
In terms of infrastructure and facilities, both institutes are well-equipped with state-of-the-art labs and equipment. However, IIT Madras has a larger and more extensive campus, which includes several research centers and facilities, making it a hub for cutting-edge research in the field of electrical engineering.
Both institutes have excellent placement records, with several reputed companies visiting the campus for recruitment. However, IIT Delhi has a slightly higher average placement package compared to IIT Madras.
Choosing between the two ultimately comes down to personal preferences and priorities. If you value research and a wider range of facilities, IIT Madras may be a better choice. However, if you prioritize placement opportunities and slightly higher research output, IIT Delhi may be the better choice.
If you are financially stable, then you should prefer BTS Goa. NIT C has gotten worse in the following years.
In NIT C, the students of some branches are getting back and the percentage of those back students are almost 50%. The environment of NIT C is hard to sustain and after being a Govt. Deemed University the faculty and students do whatever they feel like. Like one of the professors was given a warning after he was found guilty because of sexual harassment.
NIT is known nationwide for the quality of students. It's not the Institute that makes a good student, it's rather the students that make an Institute good. The same is the case with NITs. If you want to join NIT, choose NIT Surathkal.
So, BITS is also a better option as compared to NIT Calicut which is as prestigious as IITs. One of the locations of BITS is Goa, which is indeed a dream destination for engineers. You will enjoy studying there.
NIT Calicut has the cons mentioned above but not all the faculties are the same. Some of them are highly educated and decent.
IIEST Shibpur offers a good Electrical Engineering program. The Electrical faculty is the best in the institute. It has an impressive placement record as well. Around 85%-90% of students get placed through the campus drive. According to the recent highlights of IIEST Shibpur placements, the average CTC for Electrical Engineering graduates is INR 6 LPA - 7 LPA. The highest CTC goes up to INR 27 LPA.
Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata has a very good faculty for Electrical Engineering, probably the best in West Bengal. It has a very friendly environment which will aim to give you very promising college life.
This stream has been somewhat a new introduction to the institute. So in its early years, there was uncertainty in the placements. EE department fell short of the CSE, ECE, IT, AEIE. A lot of the graduates did not get placements by the end of their course.
In the last placement season, the highest package offered to the students was INR 16 LPA and the average package was INR 4 LPA. The top recruiters were TCS, Honda, Infosys, Wipro, etc.
The EEE branch at IIEST Shibpur is good and it will be a wise decision to choose it. The curriculum of the branch is updated and it is very disciplined. You will be given the best learning experience with industrial exposure and practical knowledge.
The faculty members are wise, knowledgeable, and friendly. You will also get a good research environment. The department conducts various seminars wherein professors and guests from India and abroad deliver lectures about their experiences.
If you are opting for dual specialization then you can choose from the following specializations along with the EEE branch:
EEE department also has good placement records. Most of the students get placed through campus placements or pre-placement offers. The highest CTC offered is between INR 8-10 LPA. The average CTC offered is between INR 5.5 LPA. The major recruiters are Tata steel, CESC, Vedanta, L&T, MN Dastur, HSBC, PWC, Deloitte, Mu Sigma, EXL, ZS, and mass recruiters like IBM, Infosys, cognizant and Wipro.
All these colleges are premier institutes of the country, and are considered to be the best to pursue engineering. At the present, CSE is the most sought-after branch as it attracts lucrative offers and quite a lot of opportunities in the market.

Many governments funded and internationally collaborative research projects are being carried out by the highly qualified faculty in the relatively older IITs like Mandi, Ropar and the students here get an opportunity to curate and shape innovative ideas under them. Infrastructurally they are almost at par with all facilities available, but the newer IITs like Dharwad are currently functional in transit campus so all facilities cannot be availed as of now. Hence, it is up to the student to choose a given course in a particular college.
IIIT Allahabad offers decent IT programs both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
