PES University is a private university situated in Bengaluru. The university comprises four campuses, offering various courses under different streams. The college is ranked 93rd by NIRF for its B.Tech courses.

LNM Institute of Technology (LNMIIT) is a deemed university situated in Jaipur. The college has been recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. The college was ranked 37th for private engineering by India Today and 194th for Engineering by NIRF.

Admission Procedure-

PES: B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering is a four-year course at the college and the fees for the same are 13.21 Lakhs for the full period.

• Students seeking admission to CSE at PES must have scored 60% in their 10+2 examinations in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• Eligible candidates are then selected on the basis of their scores in KCET (only for domicile students of Karnataka) or PESSAT, the common entrance examination of the college.

• The college offers 480 seats in this course.

LNMIIT: The college offers B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering as a four-year course at a fee of 12.36 lakhs.

• The eligibility criteria for candidates for CSE is 60% marks in their 10+2 examinations.

• Candidates are further selected on the basis of their score in JEE Main.

• The college offers 240 seats for the course.

PES: The college is built over a large 25-acre campus.

LNMIIT: The college is built over a massive 100-acre campus.

• Sporting facilities, laboratories for CSE, cafeterias, a gym, Wi-Fi facilities, recreation rooms, medical facilities, and shuttle service for students is provided by the institute.

Placements:

PES: CSE has a magnificent placement rate of almost 90%.

• Companies such as Accenture, IBM, JP Morgan, and HP come for placements for CSE.

• The average package offered is 6.5 LPA, with the highest package going over 40 LPA.

LNMIIT:

• The course has a 90% placement rate with companies such as Google, Microsoft, Uber, and Samsung coming for placements.

• The average salary package for CSE was 12LPA, with the highest package going up to 55LPA.

Both colleges are identical on most fronts, however, LNMIIT would be a slightly better preference between the two. LNMIIT specializes in B.Tech courses and provides better infrastructure and facilities. At a lower fee, LNMIIT offers much better placements to its students.

GNDU ranks 88 Overall and 51 in the University rankings list of NIRF 2020. Guru Nanak Dev University or GNDU Amritsar has a faculty strength of 442 members, 49% of which are PhD holders. They have a student population of 8675. 

UIET Chandigarh ranks 72nd in University rankings list. Both GNDU and UIET Chandigarh offers Bachelor in Technology (BTech) in Computer Science.

Panjab University ranks 44th by the NIRF 2020 in the Overall University rankings category. They offer a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science.

• Candidates should have 50% in their 10+2 qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is compulsory.
• For MTech applicants 60% in BTech or BE is necessary.
• The selection will be based on the JEE Main score for BTech and GATE score for MTech.

• Candidates should have 50-60% in their 10+2 qualifying exam.

Panjab University

• The top recruiting companies include Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Hewlett Packard, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, etc.

Students can work as Software architect, Data Scientist, Software engineer, Java Developer, Software developer, Database administration, Network Developer, System Database Administrator, Computer Programmer, Engineering Support Specialist, Data Warehouse Analyst, System Designer, Lecturer or Professor, Computer Operator and Research Analyst.

CSE is the most in demand subject in Engineering. Due to the rapid growth of the corporate industries and IT firms the demand of computer engineers will only increase.

IIITDM Jabalpur has been ranked at 65 for Engineering by JEE Cutoff in 2019 and has been declared as a National Institute of Importance under the Government of India IIIT Act. VIT Vellore on the other hand observes a ranking of 15 by NIRF in 2019 is a leading private university with BTech being its flagship course.

VIT Vellore:

• It has a huge campus with a six-floor library stacked with international journals and free LIBSYS software automation.
• It has multi-cuisine cafeterias and 23 hostels with a gym and an attached swimming pool.
• It is popularly known for its practical labs and has more than 50 well-equipped and updated labs for students.

Placements:

While both the universities offer a great curriculum, IIITDM Jabalpur is known to offer a higher rate of placement and also oversees a greater number of core companies as opposed to VIT Vellore. Students can make their decision based on the given points above.

KLE Technological University ranks 136 out of 300 Engineering colleges in India according to NIRF (2020). On the other hand, NITTE University ranks at the 133rd position for the same. Both colleges are among the top institutes in Karnataka and offer BE programs for CSE.

• There are 64 faculty members in the CSE department of KLE.

• The curriculum of the course is flexible according to the current technological trends seen.

• The library has over 1,04, 000 books, references, reports, encyclopedias, journals, audio-visual resources, etc.

NMAM

• The faculty of the department comprises 32 Assistant professors, 8 Associate Professors, and 3 professors. Moreover, there is 15 technical staff as well.

• There are 7 clubs in the department namely Finite Loop, Association for Computing Machinery amongst others.

• There are 10 prominent laboratories in the department such as RDBMS Laboratory, Systems Programming Laboratory, Logic Design Laboratory, etc.

• Additionally, the department has over 400 computers with 56+ application software.

Placements:

KLE:

• Infosys, Robert Bosch, SAP Lab, Toshiba, Accenture, TCS, TechMahindra, Microsoft, SONY, Walmart Labs, etc are some profound recruiters of the CSE department in KLE.

• In the 2019 batch, 204 students of the department were successfully placed.

• The highest package received was INR 30 lakhs by Amazon Software Development Centre.

NMAM:

• Sony India, Hashedin Technologies, TEKsystems Global Services Private Limited, CGI, Faurecia, SLK Software, Attra Infotech, Netskope, Yokogawa Electric are some major recruiters of the CSE department in NMAM.

• In 2019, out of 208 eligible graduates, 174 students received job offers. Additionally, more than 7 students received internships.

• The highest salary package is 18.5 lakhs while the average package is around INR 4 LPA.

CSE as an academic course opens many options pertaining to Networking, Operating Systems, and Database Management among others. These colleges are well-known and have good faculty, education, and placement opportunities. Students can choose their preferred college according to the course they wish to pursue, depending on the availability of seats.
