Do students with CGPA's around 7.0 - 7.5 in BITS, Pilani get into good MBA schools in/outside India?

SD
Shruti Dasgupta Posted On : August 5th, 2023
Student at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

It is a bit difficult to get admission with this score, especially at an institute like BITS Pilani. Most students with lower CGPAs fail to satisfy the interviewers due to a lack of sufficient knowledge of the core subject. So it is better to find your interest in studying and attend the interviews with presence of mind and confidence.

Are IISERs better than IITs in terms of research and scope for higher education abroad in basic sciences like physics?

AR
Abhinav Roy Posted On : October 21st, 2021
BS-MS from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (2020)

If you wish to pursue Physics or any branch of pure science, you must opt for IISc, IISERs, and IITs in that order only. If you wish to have a career in research, then you should opt for the first two. If you wish to grab a good job, then you should go for an IIT.

IITs are usually made of 40% research and 60% teaching and it is good if you are willing to do a B.Tech and join industry jobs. IISERs are more research-oriented.

Both IITs and IISERs have nice faculty with good research labs and research papers. It would be better to read the findings of the research papers of the faculty under whom you would be studying, before choosing an institute. If you wish to pursue higher education outside of India, you can do that anyway even if you are not from an IIT or IISER, or IISc. So, do your research and choose according to your convenience.

In IGNOU what if I fail to re register before the last day of registration?

DS
Deborah Sam Posted On : October 20th, 2022
MCA from IGNOU

Re-register before the registration deadline. If you are unable to do so, you will be unable to participate in the next semester for which you have registered. It will also give you a 6-month delay and allow you to register only on your next attempt, which is not a good idea. So be mindful of your re-registration and exam forms.

However, if you fail to re-register, don't be too concerned. Simply try to cover all previous exams and back from the previous semester and prepare for it. Learn some useful skills related to your course as well. Don't squander these six or twelve months; instead, get to work.

How are the studies at DTU?

MG
Mayank Gupta Posted On : July 4th, 2023
studied at Delhi Technological University (2020)

The level of education at DTU directly depends on how much time and effort you are willing to invest in your academics. If you are a self-motivated person, then DTU will help you achieve your dream and become your stepping stone to success. Considering the fact that The Times of India ranked DTU as 1 out of 200 colleges in 2022, it surely has decent academic standards. Here are a few points you like to consider

  • Faculty: DTU faculty pool is heterogeneous comprising both good and bad professors. While some will always be available for assistance, some will just spill some bookish lectures and go. However, if you want to work on something particular, some faculties will guide you well.
  • Course Structure: DTU course structure has been updated and it is now flexible allowing 3rd-year students to take electives of their choice. Additionally, the labs and subjects have been merged and relevant courses have been added. In all the new course Structure could be said in par with industry needs. Several non-tech courses that help in personality development have been added and the overall course structure has been updated to meet the recent industry needs.
  • Projects: Students in the 2nd year have to give a term paper i.e. research on any topics on their own and give a presentation on it. In 3rd year you have two minor projects which have credits almost equal to your theoretical subjects. And in 4th year you have to submit two major projects.
  • International exposure: DTU has been holding many international conferences such as ICPIECES and ICAPIE. Additionally, guest lectures are conducted by well-known international professors. Techfest: The tech council has been working hard to improve the standards of the tech fests. Every society conducts its own fest and students can be seen participating actively.
  • Placements: The brand value of the institute and its extensive alumni network have been able to maintain a decent placement scenario at DTU.

So, DTU will be a great choice if you are ready to commit yourself to making efforts in addition to the opportunities provided by the college.

How hard is manipal institute of technology entrance exam for an average student?

AG
Alka Gupta Posted On : September 8th, 2023
Studied at Manipal Institute Of Technology

I am a pretty average student who scored 80% in 11th and 93% in 12th. I was preparing for my JEE Advanced and took the entrance exam for Manipal as a form of practice.

I scored 155 in the entrance exam which was a good enough score to get me CSE at this institution.

The exam contains easy questions. Everything boils down to time management. There are 200 questions and the total time allotted is 150 minutes. With simple Math, you can figure out that each question gets 45 seconds. Now, all the questions in English can be solved instantly. Also, some questions on Chemistry will take no more than 10 seconds. Considering this, you’ll get an average time of 60 seconds to solve Math and Physics questions. This is more than sufficient time if your concepts are clear.

In case you do not know an answer, mark the question for later. 140 is a good score to get you into CSE at Manipal Institute of Technology. So the entrance exam isn’t tough to crack, it just requires a good speed.

How is an MBA at Nalsar University?

JS
Janki Singh Posted On : September 8th, 2021
Studied at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad (2018)

NALSAR University of Law is a law university in Hyderabad. It started offering a two-year MBA program in 2013 only. As this is a very new program in the institute, things are not in place completely yet. As some of my friends studied there, here’s what I got to know:

  • The faculty are busy setting up the academics and the placement process.
  • While the students are also concerned about the placements and thinking of ways to improve them.
  • This has led to a situation where there is very little discussion on improving the system, how to make students responsible for managing the college, etc.
  • However, as this is a new course, you will get plenty of time to indulge in your studies and you can even take your own initiatives which not only will help you but also the college.
Categories MBA at NALSAR University
Course Fee 6.11 lakh
Highest CTC 12 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA
Recruiting Companies S&P Global, Colgate, ITC, Jaro Education, etc.

If your sole intention is placements, then you should give this college a miss as it is still in its early phases.
