Is it true that NIT Kurukshetra is going to be converted into an IIT in the next few years?

Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 1st, 2023

There have been many rumors circulating about NIT Kurukshetra becoming an IIT in the coming years. However, no such changes have been made so far or any official announcement has been made regarding the same. Some even claimed that the committees visited NIT Kurukshetra to determine if it was eligible to be converted to an IIT but there have been no concrete evidence to prove the same.

Given below are some reasons, why I believe NIT Kurukshetra should be turned into an IIT Kurukshetra

  1. Firstly, the state of Haryana has no IIT as of now. IIIT Sonepat, whose mentor is NIT Kurukshetra, is under development. So it’s better to convert NIT Kurukshetra into an IIT rather than making a whole new institute. That might take a lot of time and even funds.
  2. NIT Kurukshetra which was established in 1963 and has a rich legacy that makes it the right choice to become an IIT.
  3. The institute has a huge campus and excellent placement record, especially for CS and IT branches. If it becomes an IIT, the placement scenario will only become better both for tech and non-tech branches.
  4. The institute conducts frequent revisions of the entire syllabus and ensures that it is at par with the industry's demands. However, the faculty and the research scope need to be improved before converting it into an IIT.
  5. Its location is perfect for an IIT as it is in the heart of Sid Haryana.

I hope it becomes an IIT soon!

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : September 28th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

The fee structure of Sharada university is bit high but Sharda University provides infrastructure and other facilities to the students. Sharda University, Greater Noida, is one of North India's top private medical colleges. The following elements should be taken into account while assessing the Sharda University's MBBS program's quality:

  • Ranking: According to the most recent NIRF rating for 2023, The Sharda University Greater Noida is rated 87th among universities. Its "Teaching, Learning, and Resources," "Research and Professional Practises," "Graduation Outcomes," "Outreach and Inclusivity," and "Perception" are all reflected in this.
  • Accreditation: Sharda University in Greater Noida has been recognised and certified by the Indian Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Medical Council of India.
  • Faculty and Facilities: The Sharda University is committed to provide its students with the best possible education. Teaching using cutting-edge techniques and resources is made simpler in modern classrooms with improved technology, infrastructure, and facilities.
  • Clinical Exposure: Working with experienced doctors at Sharda Hospital gives you a tremendous exposure and the chance to start along the path to a career in medicine.
  • Pass rates and residency placement: SMSR has excellent placement. Since several years ago, the students have been easily placed at numerous large hospitals. Sharda Hospital, Medanta, Max Health Care, HLL Life Care LTD, Fortis Hospital, Metro Hospital, etc. are a few of the main hospitals that provide employment in our college.

So, it can be concluded from these factors that yes, the fees are bit higher than usual. But it is pursuing MBBS degree from Sharda University Greater Noida for its amenities and future prospects.

Which is better among SITM (Pune) and SIOM (Nashik)?

SG
Shivangi Gupta Posted On : August 23rd, 2022
Studied MBA Students at Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management, Pune

SIOM Nashik is better than SITM for Operations. It offers better industry exposure. The institute organizes many industry visits around the academic year. SIOM also offers various useful certifications, besides traditional academics.

Another reason for choosing the institute is the curriculum and course content. The course work helps most students of the institute to convert summer internships into PPOs at big companies. During SIOM Nashik placements 2021, the number of PPOs offered was 25. The average CTC for the institute is around INR 11.77 LPA.

What kind of hardships do students suffer in top law colleges like NLSIU, Nalsar or NUJS?

SS
Shaoni Sengupta, Posted On : October 25th, 2021
B.A.L.L.B. from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (2022)

One of my friends studied at NUJS. According to her, hardships have varied reasons from academics to personal.

  • The Cases/readings are worth easily 500 pages every day, preparing summaries/case briefs, Tutorials and then projects, presentations, vivas, and the tiring final semesters all comprise the academic hardships.
  • Due to internships, you will miss your vacations. Internships are a temporary glimpse into what life will be like.
  • After getting the grind to excel and to get placed / PPOs, some students suffer from existential crises, emotional upheavals, urge for infinite sabbaticals, etc.
  • The burden of studies and placements takes a toll on your personal life.
  • Case briefs become a reason for discord rather than unity.
  • The healthy competition suddenly gets replaced by a rat race.

Lastly, all the things like hobbies, extra-curricular, etc. disappear. But even after all the hardships, it still is the best time of a student’s life at NLSIU.

How good is IIIT Una (Hamirpur)?

JS
Janvi Singh Posted On : May 15th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una (2022)

IIIT Una Harimpur has just two branches, i.e. CSE and ECE. The campus is under construction, so it operates from the NIT Hamirpur campus. A relative of mine who used to be a student of IIIT Hamirpur has said that studying in NIT Hamirpur is the same as studying in the latter.

The campus of NIT Hamirpur is the best thing about the institute. The infrastructure is commendable, the environment in the college is nice. Other features of IIIT Una are as follows.

  • Hostel: KBH is the hostel for the students of the first year. It has five blocks. The students of IIIT Una are given a separate block that is the C block. From their second year onwards, students have the liberty to choose rooms as per their choice.
  • Classes: The students of IIIT Una and NIT Hamirpur attend classes together as they do not have separate classes.

The students of IIIT Una and NIT Hamirpur are provided the same facilities. The former is a growing institution whose coding culture is booming.

Can I get some honest reviews regarding IBS Pune's placements?

JN
Jhanvi Nair Posted On : March 23rd, 2021
MBA from ICFAI Business School, Pune (2019)

Here’s presenting some of the honest facts by one of my friends, a student of IBS Pune. In the batch year 2015-17, the class strength was about 250 and that of the junior classes was 450. The institute tries hard to get their students placed in the placements. But it all depends on the individual, their performance in their placement interviews.

IBS does not guarantee any placement. They just provide assistance.

  • IBS Pune offers MBA/PGDM in specialization such as HR, Marketing, Operations and Finance.
  • Most of the placement jobs are of Marketing and Sales.
  • It also offers International placements but they are limited. Only 3-4 companies from UAE and Africa visit the campus for placements.
  • Some of the international companies that visit the campus are Link Middle East(Dubai), Khimji Ramdas (Oman), Satguru Travels (Africa), etc.

Categories

ISB Pune

Average CTC (Domestic)

4-6 LPA

International CTC Offered

9-15 LPA

Recruiting Companies (Domestic)

ICICI, HDFC, Axis Bank, Allied analytics, Global DATA, TATA AIG, TATA Technology, TCS, ITC, Odessa Tech., Amazon, etc.

IBS Pune is better than most of the other colleges in Pune in terms of placement. If the student is open to marketing jobs, then IBS Pune is one of the best options.
