How is VNIT Nagpur metallurgy?

MD
Mohor Dutta Posted On : November 3rd, 2023
B.Tech from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (2019)

VNIT Nagpur has one of the best Metallurgy Departments in India. The college offers a good campus, and Nagpur is a pleasant city to live in.

The department faculty is good, and labs are well-equipped. The problem lies in the branch, and not the college. The requirement of metallurgists is low in India. Because of this, the scenario is poor for core metallurgy placements.

Tata Steel and JSW do not recruit B.Tech Metallurgy students from VNIT. However, non core companies come in and fill the gap. Brands like Capgemini, L&T Infotech, etc. give equal opportunities to B.Tech Metallurgy students.

VNIT Nagpur offers very few core placements in Metallurgy. However, it offers a decent faculty and other facilities to its B.Tech Metallurgy students.

How is MA Development Studies at NIT Rourkela?

Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 5th, 2023

It is better not to opt for NIT Rourkela, as it is not a humanity-oriented college. The recruiters mostly prefer students from the science field. The disadvantage of this college is that you only concentrate on your respective subject. You don’t get enough time to prepare for other competitive exams because of the workload. So try to get admission to a humanity-oriented college for a better future

Yes, after finishing the first three years of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) program at IIM Indore, you will be eligible to sit for UPSC.

After completing 3 years in the IPM course, you will be given a UG degree in Management Studies (BMS).

After earning your BMS degree, you have the option of pursuing a management career or studying for the UPSC to enter public service. IPM program offers a strong foundation in general studies that might be helpful for studying for the UPSC, even though it is primarily focused on those who wish to pursue a career in management.

It's important to note that the UPSC is quite difficult and competitive and that it requires extensive study and effort. If you're thinking of appearing at UPSC, you should start studying as soon as possible and stick to a strict study schedule.

What should a student do when he/she gets a U grade in IIT Madras?

AS
Aditi Sengupta Posted On : March 31st, 2023
Studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

U grade in IIT Madras means you are Unfit for the particular course. Now, this may seem devastating but you don’t have to lose all hope. Try to meet the professor who has given you that grade and hold a meaningful conversation trying to get your point across and understand his viewpoint as well. Teachers don’t want you to suffer, they just want to reprimand you for your improvement.

The U grade might make you feel that you are unable to cope with the IIT standards while others can but trust me many students who were toppers in class 12 face a setback at IIT because the subjects are extremely challenging. It’s best to ask for professors' guidance and important topics to cover.

Once you taste failure, you will become more determined and thus might even work in your favor. Many successful people have terrible failure stories until they achieve success. The immense pressure and high scores of your batch mates might demotivate you but you will have to fight back and come back stronger. Don’t let failure make you feel worthless as many people value you. Just make the most out of your failures.

Classrooms

The classroom facilities at IIM Visakhapatnam are no joke and even IIM Bangalore professors were impressed by the classroom infrastructure. The classrooms are horse-shoe shaped elevated at every step to facilitate better professor and student contact.

Library

For book lovers, IIM Vishakhapatnam’s library is heaven. The vast library with 24-hour accessibility makes it one of the best. The librarian is very polite and is always on the hunt of bringing the best reads to the library. She even meets the professors and asks for their recommendations for the same. The library also has around 25 different subscriptions. Some of them include The Economist, EPW, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Sloan management.

Faculty

Most of the faculty is from the top B school IIM Bangalore and speaks of credibility. They are learned, experienced and passionate about teaching.

What are the cutoff marks for a CBSE student from Karnataka for Anna University?

PT
Pranjal Tiwari Posted On : December 28th, 2022
Studied at College of Engineering Guindy, Tamil Nadu, India

Simply add two parts Mathematics, one part Physics, and one part Chemistry to get a total of 200.

For example, if you received 90 points in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, your cut-off is 90/100 (Math) + 45/50 (Physics) + 45/50 (Chemistry) = 180/200. And you must compete with students from all other states, except Tamil Nadu, against their marks calculated in this manner, regardless of whether they are CBSE or not.

Which of the following would be better choice, an electrical at IIT Mandi, Jodhpur, Ropar, or a CSE at IIT Dharwad, Bhilai, Goa (specific interests computer science)?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : June 30th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

You can go with the option of IIT Mandi. The recruiters from CSE offer high job packages every year to the students. IIT Mandi is the best place to change your branch to CSE, as it is one of the most competitive fields. You will be placed in a good company with high packages as a fresher in your favorite CSE field. When compared with the semi-new IITs, the best option would be Mandi. For other IITs, branch change might be a difficult task. Over the last three years, about 167 students got enrolled for placements; among them, 156 were placed. So IIT Mandi is a good choice.
