Many intellectually nourished individuals in both teaching and studying have attended Anna University's College of Engineering, Guindy. The College of Engineering, Guindy, is known affectionately as "CEG" and is surrounded on its campus by neighboring institutions such as the ACT, SAP, and Madras University.
CEG offers a variety of UG and PG courses, as well as B.E-Manufacturing Engineering (B.E-Manu), which is led by the Department of Manufacturing Engineering (DoME) in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
DoME has its own building where classes for UG, PG, and other research scholars are held, as well as labs with both historical and cutting-edge equipment. They also share labs in the Mechanical Engineering Department. The faculty members are highly qualified professionals who have excelled in their fields of study. It has a student committee that organizes two symposiums, one intra-college, and one inter-college National meet, with the committee being guided by a faculty member and all organizational work being handled by students from all four years. Aside from the two conferences mentioned above, other conferences on the advancement of technologies in the field are held on a weekly or monthly basis and hosted by various internationally acclaimed professionals in the field.
My sister has recently completed her BBA with a specialization in Finance from NMIMS and she told me about the actual placement scenario of the college. She agrees with the fact that NMIMS is a top B School with an excellent curriculum and faculty. You will be offered amazing opportunities in the form of working in a big MNC or becoming an entrepreneur.
However, the situation of placements is not what it seems from the reports. Although my sister was able to get placed she witnessed many of her batch mates unplaced or placed with a very minimal package. Many companies visit the campus owing to the great brand value but the major problem that arises is the huge batch size. The competition is tough as the intake is very high. This year the total intake is BBA 600; BCOM 180. Henceforth very low packages are offered that are not even close to those mentioned in the placement reports.
In my sister's batch apart from 3 students, every student got a package of less than 3 LPA. Deloitte hired less than 17 students. While the placement scenario was really poor, the knowledge that she gained in those 3 years did help her pass CFA level-1 the next year. So it’s you who can decide if the money you spend is worth it or not by determining what you really want from your BBA.
You can email the institute or college that you want to join in Canada directly to find out. Write a letter to them mentioning the course you want to apply for and ask whether they accept Kalinga University degrees or not.
You should send a fully detailed email to the university. This way you will be able to find out from the source.
I would advise you to not opt for NEIGRIHMS if you plan to pursue your residency in the US. It is better to look for other colleges if you are seeking admission through NEET. You can join a USMLE coaching during your MBBS degree itself. At some other college, you’ll be exposed to students who have cleared their USMLE. Almost negligible MBBS students from NEIGRIHMS apply for/ clear USMLE. The college is in a budding state, so the faculty isn’t sufficient. However, the teachers are helpful and supportive.
NEIGRIHMS is not a very good option in your case.
When it comes to placements, it is quite important that you get into the right company. It not only helps you in developing your skills but also in managing things at times.
The only major company that visits both KGEC and HIT is TCS with a minimum package of 3-3.5 LPA. The off-campus placements of KGEC are quite good for both core and IT branches. Many students end up getting 10 LPA.
There is no harm in joining a government college at all. You end up getting a package of 10 LPA.
Rather than thinking about placements, you should develop your skill in order to get high placement opportunities. In near future, you might to get more and more IT companies and you should be well prepared then.
If you graduated from a top-tier college in your field of study and have excellent niche technical and professional skills, your market value rises. In this case, if you have a job offer that meets your short- and long-term career goals and you're happy with the remuneration, challenges, and learning environment, you should consider accepting it and postponing your MBA by a year or so. A few years of professional experience will undoubtedly boost your CV and qualify you for top-tier B-schools in India and abroad.
Alternatively, if you don't already have a satisfying job offer or want to pursue your master's degree for other reasons, IIM Rohtak is a good option.
If you don't have a job offer and only want to pursue an MBA from a top-tier MBA program, this is a difficult decision to make. Firstly, wasting a year in preparation is not worth it. You may believe that with a high score, you will be able to pass the exam next year and gain admission to top B-schools, but the truth is that even MBA colleges frown upon a gap year in their admission interviews, and it is difficult to account for when interviewing for placements and jobs.
Go for IIM Rohtak and make the most of the opportunities there. In reality, it is a central government-sponsored institution with standard and excellent academics, curriculum, and campus infrastructure.
You will not get a call from IIM A or IIM B if your 12th marks are low. Neither IIM K will call you as they do not give weightage to 10th marks, but to 12th and graduation score. You can get a call from IIM-K if you have a percentile between 97-98.
The percentile you need to get a call from other IIMs are as follows:
Therefore, you need to work hard and get above 90 percentile to get a call from IIMs.
IIM Rohtak is obviously building out a position in the Strategy and Consulting arena, in terms of placement and education. It began focusing on the Analytics sector about three years ago.
Categories | IIM Rohtak |
Course Fee | 16.55 lakh |
Highest CTC | 29 LPA |
Average CTC | 12-13 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Cognizant, ICICI Bank, Deloitte, Mindtree, etc. |
It's also worth mentioning that IIM Rohtak is ranked 4th in research in the NIRF rankings, emphasizing the importance of instilling a research culture in students.
I was in the same position as you last year. I too had the same options for my Bachelor and I chose IIT Roorkee due to the following reasons:-
The good thing about IIM Ahmedabad is that it does not take much consideration of past academics in comparison to other IIMs. So don’t let your class 12 marks demotivate you and cause a distraction while you are preparing for your CAT.
So, instill in yourself the confidence that your hard worlds and efforts while preparing for the CAT matter more than your class 12 marks. In fact, your low marks should motivate you more to score marks higher than others with better past scores.
And as for facts, people with such low percentages have got into IIMA though the numbers are less. Don’t let what has not happened affect what you could have achieved.
