However, the choice depends on you and your preference. According to me, IIT Roorkee is a better choice than IIT Delhi.

How is the life of a metallurgical engineer at VNIT Nagpur?
In reality, VNIT Nagpur does not stand up to its reputation. Being a student of Metallurgy at VNIT, I can shed some light on the life of students in my department-
- I was told that the Metallurgy department of VNIT Nagpur is very famous, and among the best in India. However, in reality, many people don’t even recognize the name of VNIT, and refer to the college as VRCE.
- The schedule of Metallurgy students is busy, with lack of free time for entrance preparation. Those who can’t mug things up, face a hard time getting decent grades.
- Though metallurgy has lots of scope for research, the faculty only focuses on homeworks and journals, rather than encouraging research aptitude among the students.
- The faculty is very educated and experienced, but they put no dedication towards creating talented engineers like themselves.
- The college doesn’t offer good placements and good opportunities for Metallurgy graduates. Thus, one has to give up and try finding jobs in other sectors.
- The one advantage is that some professors of the department are student friendly.
Based on my experience, I would say that the life of metallurgy students isn’t good at VNIT Nagpur.
Why is NIT Silchar developing at such a great pace?
The lack of proper administration, connectivity, and organizational structure affects the credibility of the college in a greater sense. The students and faculty put in a lot of effort to raise the college to the national level, but the lack of support ruined the institution.
After many dreadful incidents, Dr. N.V. Deshpande was appointed director of the college authority. He changed the entire face of the college and focused on its development. He replaced the faculties with young minds and directed each department to follow an ordered structure. introduction of research possibilities and students are given the choice to follow their interests. The monetary benefits are utilized by the administration only for the construction of infrastructure, a sports complex, an auditorium, a central library, and high-speed internet connectivity. This era was the turning point for the institute.

Which branch is the best in IIT Roorkee for an MTech?
IIT Roorkee MTech admission is done on the basis of a valid GATE score. You must have the same bachelor's background or interdisciplinary branch related to your department.
Considering the placements and opportunities offered, some of the best departments in IIT Roorkee for MTech are:
- Computer Science has almost 100%placement
- Electrical Engineering has excellent placement and foreign Ph.D. opportunities
- Design in the mechanical department also provides 100% placement and Ph.D. in foreign universities
- Thermal /Cad/cam has a placement percentage around 50-70 along with a Ph.D. opportunity
- Structure in the civil department offers the DAAd scholarship and has good Placements

Will I have to attend regular classes if I have a back subject in engineering last semester in RGPV or could I just take the exams next time?
You don’t have to necessarily attend classes for back paper. You can easily give exams of backlog papers without attending classes.
With the new semester, your focus will be on it. It will be difficult to attend classes for both regular and backlog.
The best option is self-study. If it’s a numerical paper, practice a lot regularly. You may take help from faculty, your seniors or even your batchmate who is good in that particular subject. This will not be difficult in RGPV. A bonus tip is to solve previous year's papers. This will save you time and give you a better picture of your exam.
Clear your back exams in time or you will face problems at the time of placement.
Should I choose mechanical engineering in IIT-D or CSE at NIT Surathkal?
Both Mechanical and CSE are good branches and offer ample placement opportunities. In this case, you should choose between the colleges.
IIT Delhi is one of the top Engineering colleges in India. They have the finest faculty, and IITD alumni have the highest number of unicorns in India. With an IIT tag, you can easily grab a job in top MNCs. Being an IITian opens great opportunities for you to pursue your higher studies at US/European Universities.
IIT Delhi Placements are top-notch. Even its Mechanical branch records an average salary close to 12 LPA. Several Finance, IT, and non-IT MNCs are open for every branch during placement season at IIT Delhi. So, you can switch to an IT career later on. For UPSC/GATE aspirants, Delhi is the ideal location.
CSE is a more in-demand branch at present. However, IIT Delhi offers much more opportunities to its students than NIT Surathkal. Therefore, I would suggest you choose ME at IITD rather than CSE at NIT Surathkal.
Is IIEST Shibpur good?
IIEST Shibpur is one of the oldest colleges in India. Other than that, it is an institute of national importance. It has an edge over a number of other engineering colleges in the country.
IIEST is placed 35th in the NIRF engineering rankings 2023. Its campus life, academics, and extracurricular facilities are all good. This college has a rich legacy, and it offers a good student life. The years spent at IIEST will be one of the most memorable years of your life. You will get ample growth opportunities over here.
