AFCAT Preparation Tips -
- The numerical ability section of AFCAT only comprises of Arithmetic. For this section practice as much as possible. You don’t need to learn short tricks as you will get plenty of times. Solve the previous year’s questions.
- Understanding is key for Verbal Ability section. Read as much as you can.

- Attempting several mock tests and solving the previous year's papers would help a lot. An overall percentage of about 40% would fetch a 98 percentile in XAT.
- Having classified general knowledge is beneficial.
- For the essay part, you need to practice thinking, at least two to three points instantly, as there is a shortage in time. But, as it is not considered in the percentile, it can be taken a little lightly.
These are some of the most important preparation tips for XAT. For XLRI, the cut-off percentile for HR is about 93 and that of BM is around 96. You should aim for a 98+ percentile score, which has a good enough weightage. A greater percentile always has more chances for the call to get converted.
How should I prepare for TAPMI WAT n PI?
TAPMI’s WAT includes questions that are mostly related to general knowledge and current affairs. WAT is basically how strong you are in written skills. Try reading current affairs topics from there only. It's all about how you tell them. Write clearly point to point and do not use jargon or bug words. They don't fetch any more points. Just make your point clear.
PI mostly has questions derived from your past experiences, academics, and sometimes current happenings around the world. If you’re aware of and following at least one news source for around 4 months before your PI, you are good to go.
