How should I go about with the preparation for IIM Bangalore interview?
Here are some useful tips which will help you prepare for IIM Bangalore interview.
Preparation tips-
- Read as much as you can. Keep a regular check on current affairs, cross-country relations, the latest business trends and market, and sports. You are expected to have your own opinions and solutions regarding various issues of the world.
- Read newspapers, Finance magazines, watch news and discussion-based programs to stay updated.
- You must know everything about the degree and institute. This way, you will be ready to answer questions like ‘Why MBA?’, and ‘What do you know about IIMB?’.
- Try to attend mock PIs. Most MBA coaching institutes have GD/PI sessions. They offer practice sessions, tips on handling questions, and personal feedback.
Know in detail about -
- Know yourself well. This will help you answer basic questions about your strength, weakness, likes, dislikes, habits, hobbies, goals, etc.
- You will be asked questions about your background. So, you must know details about your residence & native place, school & college, place of work, etc.
Do’s for interview -
- Before going for the interview, make sure that you are dressed properly. Your appearance should be neat and professional.
- Your etiquette, courtesy, and grooming will be under strict scrutiny. So, carry yourself well.
- Try to appear as witty and confident but don’t overdo it.
- Keep your portfolio organized. Make sure your certificates, Marksheets, and Accolades are arranged chronologically and neatly. This will convey the notion that you are well-organized and serious about your candidature.
Admit your weakness -
During the interview, if you don’t know an answer to a question, admit it, rather than guessing.
Don’ts for the interview -
- It’s natural to be nervous, but don’t make it obvious. Also, don’t be overconfident.
- Don’t boast about your academic record or test score.
- Try not to drag on a particular point. If the interviewer wants to elaborate on something, they will ask you.
- Don’t appear as someone who is only interested in the placement.
Steering your interview -
The way you handle questions during interview can steer the conversation in your desired direction. While answering a question, try to make an impression that can prompt the interviewers to ask you the next question. This lead can be about some educational achievement, a project in which you have shown leadership skills, or a subject of which you have in-depth knowledge. But this should be done subtly.

How can I prepare for CAT in BITS, Pilani?
BITS, Pilani library has a huge collection of books. It stays open from 8 AM to 11 AM. You can take full advantage of the library. For your preparation, you will also get help from your seniors.
BITS Pilani also offers training and special classes for CAT aspirants. Attending these classes can be a great help in your preparation.
What should be my schedule for the 2022 CLAT if I start preparing from today to get into NLSIU?
2 months of preparation is enough if you are aspiring for CLAT but you should work hard with sheer dedication.
- You should join some crash courses but before joining it, give a mock test to identify your strong and weak points.
- Once done, you should start preparing without any time limit. If you have practiced enough, then set a timer and give each section proper time.
- To enhance your GK, read newspapers daily apart from the glamorous news. They will help you immensely during your exam.
- You should also keep an eye on the websites for the information related to CLAT. You can also find mock papers that are easily available.
- It would be better if you have friends who are also preparing for CLAT as you can study together with them and discuss doubts.
Last but not least we can say that by following these steps you can easily clear CLAT and can achieve the heights, just keep in mind that you need to match the level of the CLAT exam so develop your aptitude accordingly.
How do I prepare for the CLAT 21 from today while studying in an NLU? What is a study plan? Im aiming for NLSIU.
One of my friends is a student of NLSIU and here is his advice on how to prepare for CLAT.
- You can take a year break to prepare for it or blend your routine in a perfect balance to prepare for it along with your studies. Assign flexible time hours to your CLAT preparation. You should follow a very strict schedule when it comes to the preparation of CLAT.
- Pursuing an online course while studying in any institute for cracking CLAT might be helpful.
- Remember to invest equal hours in preparation for all the questions you will be attempting. Your hold on English should be strong. Do not forget to practice reasoning every day.
- Updating your general knowledge and current affairs regularly is also necessary.
With strategic planning, you can do well in CLAT.
How do I prepare for WAT and PI for IIM Indore (IPM)?
If you're talking about IPM at IIM Indore, I would say being a student here, that IIM Indore generally looks for students who can stand out among others.
In terms of WAT, reading articles helps a lot. You come across numerous themes, which helps you gain knowledge and build a good vocabulary.
For PI, study current events and trends and be prepared for odd questions. They will not only test your knowledge but also your IQ. As a result, the key to acing your interview is to respond with honesty and confidence.

How did you prepare for the NIMCET to get into NIT Trichy, and which coaching?
The level of competition in NIMCET is not high when compared to the competitiveness of other exams. The most important section of the exam is Mathematics as it contains 50 questions of 12 marks each. Try to focus on this section as it is rewarding.
One of my friends planned his score chart in the following manner:

A score similar to this would be enough to get a good enough rank in the general category.
To prepare for Mathematics, you can practice Sets, Statistics, Matrices, Binomial theorem, determinants as they can be done in a short time.
- There will be 2 questions in Definite and Indefinite Integral and 2 questions of Matrices and Determinants.
- You may even come across 2 questions from Sets.
- Other important topics are vector, probability, and 3D. In the last few years, about 10 questions from these topics are coming in the exams.
- You will get probably 3 questions from the 3D section.
If you prepare yourself diligently for 3-4 months, you will be more than capable to crack NIMCET. Books from R.D. Sharma would be enough for preparing for the exams. In case of English, you just need to have basic aptitude knowledge.
How should I prepare myself for the ISI Kolkata entrance exam?
Some of my friends took admission to ISI Kolkata for their bachelor's courses. Here are a few of their tips which you can follow while you prepare yourself at home.
- Lay emphasis on Mathematics concepts like Number Theory, Combinatorics, etc. from a standard book, like Excursion.
- Try to Solve a set of problems daily from the Test of maths at 10+2 level.
- Solve a lot of MCQs from JEE books which are easily available both offline and online.
- Learn calculus at an advanced level from the book - I.A. Maron, etc.
- Revise and fine-tune whatever you have learned till now. Take routine tests to keep a check on your preparation.
Overall, home preparation is quite simple if you want to score well enough for ISI Kolkata. Follow the important points and practice each and everything as much as you can. Also, you can always take help from your seniors who have gone through similar exams.

How do I prepare myself before joining IIM Bangalore?
Here are a few things that you can do to prepare yourself before joining IIM Bangalore.
- Try to make your profile better. You can’t do much about your academics, but you can use this time to improve your extracurricular section. The summer internships will be based on your past profile. Having a good profile will help you stand out.
- Make a proper CV. It will be the most important document until you get your MBA.
- You can prepare for the summer placements by going through HR questions. Just 2-3 weeks into your MBA, the summer placements will start.
- Connect with your seniors through social media platforms. Talking to them will give you a good idea of what to expect.
- Read as much as you can. Stay updated with the current happenings in the industry.
Also, try to spend some time with your family and friends, once you join IIM Bangalore, you won’t have much time for anything except academics.
How can I prepare for the B.Stat. at ISI, Kolkata?
There are three sections in the entrance exam and the level of maths is the same as what you studied in your 12th. The exam follows the pattern of most high school mathematics competitions (RMO, INMO, etc).
The three sections of the Entrance Exam consist of MCQ, A Subjective Test, and an Interview.
The books you must know are:
- Problem Solving Strategies by Engel Arthur
- Test of Mathematics at the 10 + 2 level, Indian Statistical Institute, Published by Affiliated East-West Press Pvt. Ltd.
- Challenge and Thrill of Pre-College Mathematics by B. J. Venkatachala
You should complete these all and do previous year’s papers of ISI/CMI RMO, INMO and IMO.
For Interview:
- Once you crack the exam, the interview part won’t be that difficult.
- Answer the questions confidently and honestly.
- The entrance exam of ISI is not easy and also there are only a few seats for B.Stat.
- You have to prepare well.
Do not overthink and do your preparation well. This will help you a lot. Be calm and try to think of cracking the exam and the latter part would be an easy task for you.
