Is MANIT Bhopal is good for CS engineering?

AR
Aditi Roy Posted On : November 8th, 2023
lives in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India

Here are some details on the B.Tech CS at MANIT Bhopal-

  • Faculty- Not all teachers of the department are experts in their field, but you’ll find some really good ones in the faculty. Some of them have completed their degrees from renowned IITs like IITD, IITB, IITR, etc. At the end of the day, most things depend on your own efforts.
  • Labs- The lab facility is poor at MANIT. The CS labs have system issues, poor internet, and lack of proper mentors. Not just the labs of MANIT, but even the hostels face internet connectivity issues. If you are keen on learning, you’ll find out ways of dealing with such situations.
  • Environment and Peers- The department has very talented students, some of whom learn programming even before joining B.Tech. The learning environment is good, and the competitive spirit is high as well. Students of the department learn competitive coding on various platforms, and rank quite high on them.
  • Placements- The placement scenario is quite good for the CS branch. Tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, Drishti Soft, Oracle, Samsung R&D, etc. visit each year with lucrative packages. Work hard on your skills, and you are sure to land a good job with an impressive package by the end of your degree.

CS is the best engineering department at MANIT Bhopal. You can consider this college for your CS degree.

AS
Aditya Sinha Posted On : March 2nd, 2024
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India

NIT Jamshedpur and BIT Mesra intake students through JEE Mains (which is conducted by CSAB). JEE Mains allows admission to NITs, BIT Mesra, and various other engineering colleges.

JCECE allows admission to state colleges of Jharkhand. BIT Sindri is the best college to get into by qualifying JCECE. If you are interested in branches like Mining and Metallurgy, BIT Sindri is a good choice.

If you perform well in JEE Mains, you may qualify for the top NITs like Warangal, Trichy, etc.

Is GATE preparation enough for ISRO?

AJ
Anubhav Jain Posted On : August 16th, 2022
B.Tech (ECE) from National Institutes of Technology

GATE preparation is enough for ISRO. If you prepare diligently for GATE, ISRO Written will be easier for you. Focus more on Signal Systems, Communication Systems, Networks, etc. Solve the previous years' question papers. You can read some additional topics like Microwave Devices, VHDL, Programming of 8085, & 8051, etc. as well. It will give you a competitive edge.

ISRO Interviews are more difficult in comparison. It is also the sole criteria for selection. Study 5-6 subjects in depth for the interview.

Carry-over subjects are the ones that you failed to clear in that academic year. If you have carry-over subjects from the 2nd year, you will be able to attend 3rd-year MBBS classes but you will have to clear the supplementary examinations for the carry-over subjects.

Yes, you can write 3rd-year examination in June after clearing 2nd-year supplementary examinations in June. The course work of 3rd year isn’t heavy there is only one major subject, i.e. PSM along with two minor subjects. So, you will be able to manage.

How is NIT Raipur for MCA?

AM
Aditya Mishra Posted On : September 9th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Raipur

I studied MCA at NIT Raipur, and completed my degree a few years back. Here are some pros and cons of joining this stream at NIT Raipur-

Pros-

  1. You’ll get an NIT tag.
  2. You’ll be offered a decent package, given that you stand eligible for the placements.

Cons-

  1. The faculty for MCA is underqualified. The teachers don’t solve the students’ doubts properly. If argued with, they might reduce your marks in the examinations.
  2. You can’t choose your elective paper in the 5th semester.
  3. The HOD and other faculty members aren’t cooperative or supportive towards their students.
  4. Although you’ll sit for placements with CS and IT engineering students, many companies don’t allow MCA students to apply. However, the same companies do pick MCA students from some of the other NITs.
  5. Sometimes when well-known brands visit the campus with placement offers, many MCA students are already busy with their internships.
  6. You’ll have to score 60% and above throughout your academic career. Failing to do so means you’ll most probably not be placed.
  7. Even if you stand eligible for placements, getting placed is still a challenge.
  8. The fee is higher in comparison to the educational and hostel facilities provided by this college for MCA students.
  9. B.Tech students are always prioritized and kept above MCA students, which is a bit unfair.

Thus, NIT Raipur isn’t the best place to pursue your MCA degree from.

Is it good to take B.Arch in VNIT Nagpur?

MD
Mohor Dutta Posted On : November 3rd, 2023
B.Tech from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (2019)

The Department of Architecture and Planning is one of the oldest at VNIT Nagpur. Pursuing B.Arch from VNIT has its own pros and cons, some of which have been discussed below-

Pros

  1. The B.Arch faculty consists of excellent as well as decent teachers.
  2. The course curriculum is made according to industry standards.
  3. VNIT is a renowned institute, and the Architecture department offers good infrastructure.
  4. The student quality is good for B.Arch.

Cons

  1. Placement opportunities are extremely low for Architecture students. Only a few companies are open for B.Arch students, with no architecture firms in this list.
  2. The teaching and non-teaching staff is small in number, and the department lacks motivation.
  3. The facilities aren’t top notch, and the controlling body is not very responsive.

I would recommend you make a decision after considering these pros and cons. Whether VNIT is good for B.Arch or not, totally depends on your personal opinion.
