While choosing an engineering college in karnataka shall I go for autonomous or VTU?

MG
Monica Garg Posted On : October 1st, 2022
Studied Computer Science and Engineering at Malnad College of Engineering

If you are getting admission into a reputed college, it’s better to choose autonomous rather than VTU The syllabus and the academic calendar are made by the college. The course structure is flexible enough for pursuing internships and other courses.

VTU syllabus is old and outdated. The coursework also doesn’t leave much time for doing anything other than academics.

Which university is good, Osmania or JNTU, for engineering in Hyderabad?

AS
Arindam Sen, Posted On : October 22nd, 2021
Studied B.E. Mechanical Engineering at Osmania University (2020)

One of my friends studied at Osmania University. According to him, Osmania University really helped him in learning engineering from scratch. Here are some reasons why it is his first choice.

  1. Less number of colleges: Osmania, unlike other universities, does not give affiliation to any random college, thus maintaining a standard. JNTU has hundreds of colleges under its wing, due to which the newly established ones lack quality.
  2. Fair Evaluation: Due to lesser colleges there are lesser students, which gives Osmania the advantage of evaluating exam papers precisely. Also if they are found incorrect the cost of reevaluation is less, INR 300. Whereas Reevaluation at JNTU costs INR 1000. JNTU was also infamous for its faulty correction.
  3. Projects: JNTU has students submit a mini project in 4-1 and a major project in 4-2. Whereas Osmania does not put much pressure on the students, as they have to pitch the idea of the project in 4-1 and submit it in 4-2.

It is widely known among every student and professionals that Osmania’s degree has more value than JNTU.

According to the reviews by the students of Andhra University online, it should not and is not considered one of the best colleges for engineering in India.

They are known to have irregular classroom lectures with a very careless faculty. The syllabus is not updated and is not relevant to current industry trends. The infrastructure is poor and the maintenance of the labs is neglected.

Andhra University is infamous for its gradually degrading condition both of the campus and the academics offered there.

B.Tech from Central University of Haryana (2021)

According to CUCET if you got around 35 marks out of 100 you can get any branch in Central University of Haryana for B.Tech. It is suggested that you opt for computer science engineering or printing and packaging engineering. They are considered to be better than the others.

Categories CUHAR
Course Fee INR 5.26 lakh
Placement Percentage 60%
Highest CTC 6 LPA
Average CTC 3 LPA
Recruiting Companies HCL, Wipro, Amazon and TCS.

According to the examination level, anybody can easily score 35 marks in CUCET. Overall the infrastructure is really good but the faculty is not up to the mark. The lab facilities lack some equipment. The hostels and connectivity are also average. So, you can look for other more experienced institutions or join only if you are interested in CSE.

Which is better for computer sciences engineering, GNDU Amritsar or Thapar Patiala?

JV
Jiya Vaid, Posted On : November 15th, 2021
studied Computer Science Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2021)

CSE at Thapar Patiala is much better when compared to GNDU Amritsar. This choice majorly depends on the individual and might vary from person to person.

If you are dedicated and passionate about the field you are pursuing and are eager to learn, then whichever college you choose, you will definitely succeed. As you are not dependent on the college’s reputation, but learning the skills for the industry for your betterment.

Also, your economic stability is a major concern. If the fees are not your problem you can choose Thapar over GNDU. Thapar provides better exposure and salary packages, whereas GNDU has average placements offering lower salary packages.

But if fees are one of your major concerns, then opt for GNDU, as it will be better.
