How should one choose between IIT-Madras and IIT-Bombay?
Both IIT Madras and IIT Bombay are well-recognized academic institutions in India and are ranked amongst the top Engineering institutions as well. The choice between IIT Madras and IIT Bombay depends on you and other factors like the field of study you opt for, location preference, research opportunities, campus facilities, and your personal choices.
However, being a student of IIT Madras I can vouch for it to be a better choice.
- IIT Madras has been ranked in 1st position in the category of overall engineering in the year 2023 by NIRF and in the year 2023 it was ranked 68th position by QS World University Ranking by subject (Engineering and Technology).
- The average cost of pursuing a BTech course from IIT Madras is around INR 2.15 Lakh for the first year.
- The placement for the year 2023 at IIT Madras was good with 80% of the students from BTech and 75% of dual courses being offered placements.
- The median package of IIT Madras is INR 19.60 LPA and the average package is INR 22 LPA.
- Some of the top recruiters are Apple, Google, Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto Ltd, Cetak Ltd, Qualcomm, and more.
How good is college of engineering Pune?
This college is one of the best engineering colleges in Maharashtra but not good enough to be one of the best in the country. As far as the college is concerned, it is the 3rd oldest college in Asia and its buildings reflect that. However, on the inside, they are very well redesigned and well equipped.
Overall, the campus has an area of 36 acres which is obviously smaller than other IITs and NITs that have 100-acre campuses. The college definitely has its own hostel but it is not big enough to house all students.
Being autonomous, it definitely updates its curriculum regularly with industry requirements and has also won quite a few accolades for the same. As far as the crowd is concerned, you will see that most of the students are Maharashtrians coming from different parts of the state but it is a healthy mix of athletes, studious individuals, and people with different talents.

If you are keen on joining clubs, there are many like Robotics, Satellite, Drama, Writing and Radio. These are mainly spearheaded by students and you can join any of them based on your interest. There are also a number of fests like Tech fests, Sports fests, and other cultural festivals and all of them are quite popular.
Labs are also fully functional and will usually cater to all your needs. Most instruments are functional, but you might find one or two that are bumpy here and there. The college has recruiting companies like HSBC, Qouvantis, and Mahindra to visit the college. However, with COVID 19, the situation might be a little different.
While BVP is not in the top engineering colleges of India, it is decent enough for the opportunities it offers. You can apply here if you are looking to do so.
How is the new campus of Nicmar Hyderabad?
The new campus of NICMAR Hyderabad is 20 Km away from the city and you hardly find anything around the campus.
- You need to walk 2 Km from the bus stand to get into the NICMAR campus.
- There is a small basketball court and cricket ground.
- The gym facilities are good but usually remain overcrowded.
- One small shop is there where you hardly find anything, and the food is of average quality and the menu gets repeated.
- But there is a 24 hours electricity supply and the classrooms are well-equipped with air conditioners.
- Also, a free wifi facility is available but there is a limit, if you use it beyond that then your id is blocked by the officials.
Thus, we can conclude that the facilities provided in the new campus are less when compared to the old one.
Do students from IIM/FMS/JBIMS/SPJIMR/IIFT/XLRI bunk classes like engineering students?
At IIM/FMS/JBIMS/SPJIMR/IIFT/XLRI, attendance is seen as a crucial aspect of the learning experience. Every effort must be made to be present in class and to participate actively in the discussions. In fact, class participation is considered to be such an important factor in determining grades that a significant portion of the total course weightage is allocated to it. This system is in place to encourage students to be engaged in the learning process and to ensure that they are taking full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.
On the other hand, at IIT Kanpur, there is a more relaxed approach to attendance. While it is still advisable to attend classes and to be present for lectures, there is no strict requirement in place. This gives students more flexibility and allows them to choose when they want to attend classes based on their personal schedules or other commitments. It also means that engineering students are not penalized if they miss a class or two, as long as they are able to make up for it by participating in other ways, such as completing assignments or preparing for exams.
Overall, both B-schools and Engineering colleges have different approaches to attendance and class participation. While IIM Ahmedabad places a strong emphasis on being present in class and participating actively, IIT Kanpur takes a more relaxed approach. Ultimately, the choice between the two institutions will depend on the individual student's preferences and learning style.
How is the placement in FMS BHU?
Placements for FMS BHU are quite impressive. It added one of the prominent financial institutions of India i.e. Reserve Bank of India in its recruitment list in the recent past.
Moreover, many students got a chance to get recruited in the top international company and organizations including research & consulting firms such as iCRM.
- The job profiles offered were diverse, i.e. encompassing Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Business Consulting, IT consulting, Agri-Business, Industrial Relations, and Corporate HR.
- Multiple top-notch recruiters came on campus as, Infosys, Coal India, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Pantaloon, Visa Steel, FINO, Ansal API to name a few. According to the 2020 placement highlights the highest CTC offered was 18 LPA.

Which one will be a better choice for an MSc in maths, IISc, ISI Kolkata, or IIT KGP?
While all three institutes are prestigious institutes, my sister chose ISI Kolkata for a number of reasons. Here are a few reasons
- ISI Kolkata is the best institute when it comes to Maths and it is ranked #1401+ in QS World University Rankings 2024. Its flagship course is B.Stat.
- In this modern era, Statistics is highly demanded and ISI opens opportunities in the same.
- The placement scenario of ISI Kolkata is at par with the top IITS. The average package recorded is INR 25.50 LPA while the highest stood at INR 89 LPA.
- The institute offers a full scholarship and currently, a number of ISI pass-outs are undergoing PhD programs in top foreign universities.
- ISI has no tuition fees except hostel fees. In fact, students get an annual scholarship of Rs. 36,000/-.
- The small batch size improved the student-teacher ratio as a result all students got individual attention.
- The accommodation facilities are great and students are allotted single occupancy rooms.
ISI Kolkata is a great option as it offers opportunities in both, jobs and higher education.
Which company visits CUSAT at the time of placement?
Since some of my friends studied at CUSAT, Let me share their insight on the companies that tend to visit CUSAT at the time of the placement.
- In the CS background, the IT companies like Infosys and TCS visit the campus every year.
- For the mechanical department, CEAT and KITKO companies have visited.
- The college provides better placement opportunities for CS and IT Branches.
- The fire and safety department of the college gets huge compensation due to the huge demand for fire engineering and less supply for fire engineering in India.
- For CS and IT branches the students get placed with good packages from INR 10-20 LPA.
- You just need to prepare well for placements should score well in your CGPA.
The placement percentage is low in the Mechanical branch, EEE, and Civil branches. You may not get core companies but you may get jobs in other sectors.
How is Life in IIT Madras?
Life at IIT Madras is truly amazing. There are endless opportunities to explore this vast campus. Going on a cycle ride around the campus is always a fun activity that you can enjoy. Once you have explored most of the campus, you may start to feel that it is small, but it's always exciting to discover new places.
Although there is a curfew for freshers, and you are expected to be back in the hostel by 9:30, the nightlife in the institute can be a lot more memorable. However, it's important to remember that breaking the rules can have serious consequences, so be mindful of your actions.
Watching the sunrise at the beach is an experience that you will cherish forever. It's a perfect way to start your day and feel rejuvenated. Spending your Saturday evenings at OAT movie with your friends or attending Wolf night and Freshie night events are great ways to bond and create lasting memories with your fellow students.

How is IIM Indore?
It could be answered in terms of placement offers or in terms of actual campus life and the lessons learned here.
The top 100 students received packages worth an average of INR 37.95 Lakhs, while the top 200 students received compensation worth an average of INR 32.75 Lakhs. The institute's median salary increased by 6.6% to a new high of INR 24.09 Lakhs. On campus, the highest package available was INR 49 Lakhs.
Second, IIM Indore will never let you down. The infrastructure is incredible and on par with global standards. The 200-acre lush green campus will make you feel right at home. The well-equipped, air-conditioned classrooms, sports and gym facilities, auditoriums, and extensive library collections are all industry standards.
Not to mention the outstanding professors. In fact, they are the most important aspect of learning here. The institute has ensured a good faculty strength with a faculty strength of over 90. This, combined with an excellent course framework, ensures a thorough understanding of subjects and interactive sessions.
The most important aspect of your time there is going to be the people. A batch consists of 450 students. The large batch strength and diversity teach you a lot. You meet people from various backgrounds who are gifted and have brilliant ideas. IIM Indore is an excellent institution. If you are perplexed by your options, consider joining them.
What is the average Package in IIT delhi in BTECH?
During the 2022 placement season at IIT Delhi, B.Tech graduates received an average package of around 16-17 LPA. However, the actual package offered can vary greatly depending on several factors such as the student's branch, academic performance, skills, and the hiring company. Students from popular branches such as computer science, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering have been known to receive much higher packages in the range of 30-40 lakhs per annum or even more.
On the other hand, some students from less popular branches may receive lower packages in the range of 8-10 lakhs per annum. While the package offered is a significant factor, students must also consider other aspects such as the job role, work culture, and growth opportunities while selecting a company.
