According to MNNIT Allahabad rules, you need to multiply your CPI with 10 to get the percentage. If your CPI is 9.4, your percentage will be - 9.4*10 = 94. Although the MNNIT doesn’t have a specified formula for CPI to percentage conversion, this is the standard practice used for this calculation.

Why isn’t the NSIT famous?

SM
Senjuti Mitra Posted On : August 22nd, 2023
Studied at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (Graduated 2022)

Well, I don’t believe that NSUT is not famous. In fact, it’s well-known globally. One of my friends who is an ex-student of NSUT went to Harvard MUN and most of the students there knew about NSUT. This in itself speaks of the college's reputation and brand value.

You will be surprised to know that NSUT is the only college from India to get an invitation to send a delegation to the prestigious Harvard MUN.

The reason it isn’t as famous as DTU is because it has almost half the intake of DTU. So it has fewer alumni spread across the globe that would promote the institute.

So it’s just a misconception that NSUT is not famous!

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : April 6th, 2023

The CEED is a highly competitive exam for admission to various Master's and Ph.D. programs in design in prestigious institutions like IITs, IISc, and IIITDM. To prepare for the CEED exam, you can follow these tips:

  1. Understand the exam pattern: Before you start your preparation, it is essential to understand the exam pattern thoroughly. The CEED exam consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A is an online test that evaluates your aptitude, visual and spatial ability, and design sensitivity. Part B is a design aptitude test that assesses your creativity, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
  2. Familiarize yourself with design concepts: To crack the CEED exam, you must have a good understanding of the fundamental design concepts, principles, and techniques. Start by studying the basics of color theory, typography, perspective drawing, composition, and visual perception.
  3. Practice sketching and drawing: Sketching and drawing are essential skills for design students. Regular practice will help you improve your sketching speed, accuracy, and visual communication skills. You can start by drawing objects from real life, practicing line work, and shading techniques.
  4. Solve previous year's question papers: It is an excellent way to understand the exam pattern and prepare yourself for the exam. It will also help you identify your weak areas and work on them.
  5. Join a coaching institute: Doin this would be very helpful, as it provides you with structured guidance and study material. It also helps you to stay motivated and focused on your preparation.
  6. Keep yourself updated: Stay updated with the latest design trends, technologies, and developments in the industry. This will help you to develop a broader perspective on design and improve your design thinking and problem-solving skills.
  7. Time management: Time management is crucial while attempting the CEED exam. Practice time management by solving mock tests and previous year's papers within the time limit.

Remember to maintain a positive attitude, stay motivated, and keep practicing regularly. All the best for your CEED exam!

Which is better, IIIT Sri City or JNTU Hyderabad? Is IIIT a low standard when compared to JNTU Hyderabad?

GS
Gargi Sinha Posted On : September 7th, 2022
Former Student at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City (IIITS)

IIIT Sri City is better than JNTU Hyderabad. It has a better peer group which is reflected in the higher cutoff requirements. IIIT Sri City follows the course structure and curriculum of IIIT Hyderabad. So, you will receive better learning and resources.

The institute has maintained an excellent placement record over the years. Companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Amazon, etc. take part in IIIT Sri City placements. The average CTC offered is around INR 6 LPA.

Do you regret joining IIT Bombay?

SA
Subhashree Adhikari Posted On : March 18th, 2023
B.Tech from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) (2019)

I know a friend who is currently in her second semester and she shared a few pieces of information regarding the scenario there.

As everyone says, joining IIT Bombay was indeed a very fun-filled experience and it satisfies all your cravings for a rich college life experience.

However, after a few days, she became aware of some harsh realities. Due to the relaxed ambiance, she stopped focusing on academics and was not among the toppers anymore. This affected her confidence a lot. She started feeling inferior to her peers and considered herself just an average student. She started anticipating if her decision to join IIT Bombay was even worth it. Eventually, she realized that she was mistaken and the truth was way different. She realized a few things she wasn’t able to ascertain before

  • She was able to learn such things she could not have learned anywhere else
  • She had learned to work more than her capabilities and push her limit by studying with many geniuses
  • She got to know her worth when compared to people in the same field
  • Life at IIT Bombay made her all the more humble and mature, ready to face life challenges strongly.

She eventually did not regret joining IIT Bombay even a bit. She gave it the credit for grooming her overall personality.

Getting CSE at Thapar University as well as Jaypee Noida (JIIT) , which college should I choose?

MA
Madhav Aneja Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Lived in Chandigarh, India

Had you asked this question 4-5 years ago, the common answer would have been Thapar University. However, things have changed a lot in the last few years. Here are some reasons why I would suggest you to go for JIIT Noida for your B.Tech CSE-

  1. The crowd quality at Thapar University has gone down drastically. The reasons behind this are a 50% quota for Punjab students and the enormous increase in the number of seats. Both these actions have resulted in very low cut offs. The cutoff rank for Punjab students in JEE Mains is 1.5 Lakh+ for CSE department. The closing rank of JIIT Noida for the same is around 51 K+. Thus, the crowd is better in JIIT Noida as compared to Thapar.
  2. The batch size at Thapar University is much bigger than JIIT N. Thapar University has a batch size of 1200+ students for Computers while JIIT Noida has a batch size of only 250+ students. A smaller batch size means more placement opportunities and better attention towards the learning of each student.
  3. Location-wise, NCR offers more opportunities than Patiala. You will get numerous opportunities in NCR like trade shows, conferences, training, better placements, etc. Gurgaon and Noida are the new IT Hubs, second only to Bangalore and at par with Hyderabad and Pune. As a CSE student, you should prefer Noida over Patiala.
  4. Though Thapar University has a bigger campus of 250 acres, your life will mostly revolve around your classrooms, nearby areas and your hostel. Thus, the smaller campus of JIIT N should not be that big an obstacle.
  5. The average package for B.Tech CSE is around INR 13.28 LPA at JIIT Noida, which is better than Thapar University in which the average package for the UG stream stands at around INR 10.97 LPA. Studying at JIIT Noida is also around 30-40% cheaper than Thapar.

Thus, at present, CSE from JIIT Noida is a much better choice.
