GATE 2022 AR Question Paper and Answer Key PDFs are available to download. GATE 2022 AR was conducted on 13th February, 2022 by IIT Kharagpur in the Forenoon Session (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM). The overall difficulty level of the question paper stands at moderately tough. The General Aptitude section was rated moderate, while Architecture based questions were considered moderately tough. General Aptitude, Numericals, Environmental Behavior, and History were some of the high scoring topics in the exam.

GATE 2022 AR Detailed Paper Analysis

This year, IIT Kharagpur modified the overall exam pattern of GATE 2022 AR. The question paper of GATE 2022 AR was divided into three sections i.e. General Aptitude, Part A, and Part B. Part B was further divided into two sections i.e. Architecture (B1) and Planning (B2). The General Aptitude and Part A were mandatory sections. All the test-takers were supposed to attempt either B1 or B2 from Part B of the question paper.

  • The General Aptitude section carried 10 questions of 15 marks
  • Part A carried 39 questions of 60 marks
  • Part B, B1 and B2, carried 16 questions each carrying the rest of the 25 marks
  • An attempt of more than 45 would be considered a good attempt

  • GATE 2022 AR asked both MCQs and NATs. It was held online via CBT mode
  • As per the specified marking scheme by IIT Delhi, from the final score, ⅓ and ⅔ marks would be reduced for each wrong MCQ carried 1 and 2 marks
  • Wrong attempted NATs were not supposed to bring any kind of deduction in the final achieved marks
