Questions appeared from the ten sections in GATE 2020 IN. 3 hours were allotted to solve 65 questions carrying 100 marks in GATE 2020 IN. There were both MCQs and NAT questions in the exam. ⅓ and ⅔ marks would be deducted for every incorrect answer carrying 1 and 2 marks respectively.
- Marks were not deducted for any wrong attempted NAT question, or any question that goes unattempted
- The Engineering Mechanics and Control Systems section contributes the most. The both sections hold around 28% (14% each section) weightage when combined, in GATE 2020 IN
- Even though difficulty level was easy to moderate, the paper was difficult as compared to the last year
- Aptitude section was easy than the last year
- In the Network Theory section, 3 questions appeared from 3 phase which were tough to attempt
- In Measurement section, questions were asked from Maxwell AC bridge, Tolerance, Q-meter which were moderate in nature
- In Control System section, questions asked from Nyquist plot, Polar plot to find value of K, graphical question to find the gain value
