As reported by the students, the overall difficulty level of the question paper was moderate to tough. MT and CC hold the greatest 26% of the weightage, 13% each, while PEDco holds the least weightage.

  • Core engineering holds around 70% weightage, while the rest of the 30% is equally distributed in Aptitude and Mathematics section in GATE 2020 CH.
  • The exam was conducted in CBT mode. 3 hours were allotted to solve 65 questions carrying 100 marks
  • There were two kinds of questions listed in GATE 2020 CH i.e MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and NATs (Numerical Answer Type)
  • Each question carried either 1 or 2 marks
  • There was a negative marking pattern for every wrong attempt answer, 1/3 marks would be deducted for every MCQ carrying 1 mark. 2/3 marks would be deducted for every wrong MCQ carrying 2 marks
  • No marks were deducted if attempted NAT questions were wrong, or MCQs or NATs questions goes unattempted
