GATE 2016 XE Question Paper with Answer Key PDFs are available now for download. The exam was conducted by the IISc Bangalore on February 7, 2016 in the afternoon session. The total marks for the exam were 100 and the total Duration of GATE 2016 XE was 3 hours. GATE XE 2016 had a total of 8 sections which included questions related to General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, etc. It was compulsory to attempt the GA, Engineering Mathematics section, and any 2 sections out of 6 optional sections from B through G. - The Fluid Mechanics Section (B) had 5 NAT questions of 1 mark each and 8 NAT questions of 2 marks each were asked in the question paper.
- In Material Science Section (C) 10 NAT Questions and 9 MCQs were found.
- The Solid Mechanics section(D) had 11 MCQ questions. The number of NAT questions was less in this section.
