GATE 2016 Electrical Engineering (EE) Slot 1 Paper Analysis
GATE 2016 Electrical Engineering (EE) question paper carries a total of 65 questions.
- All the questions are divided into two marking schemes, that is, 1 or 2 marks.
- Question paper has both Multiple Choices Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Questions (NAQ).
- The section with the general aptitude consisted of 15% of the weightage of the overall question paper.
- The section on Engineering Mathematics also carried 15% of the weightage of the overall question paper.
- Therefore, the rest of the subjective paper had remaining 70% of weightage.
- The paper had 35 questions of 1 mark and 30 questions of 2 marks.
- There were various questions which consisted of diagrams, graphs and data. Such questions demanded the analytical abilities of the candidates.
- 1/3rd and 2/3rd marks are to be deducted for every wrong answer to questions carrying 1 and 2 marks respectively.
