Answer:

Institutions/colleges are the places that produce leaders for tomorrow who have to face real-world challenges. But most of the universities always face the issue of how they can help students become job-ready in the future. According to many people, pursuing different courses outside the student's field of study can help them get a better understanding and broaden their perspective and skills for a future career. While many think that taking classes that are beyond the areas of students' research are of no help to students in their jobs. According to me, the students need to stay focused on gaining knowledge and skills in their relevant fields of study as it helps them understand the world more appropriately. In addition, acquiring additional knowledge helps students improve their skills and enables them to have a successful career.

People gaining education related to different fields can easily adapt to society more quickly. For instance, students studying science and technology can also get a little bit of information about humanities. Taking classes in politics and economy will help them know the existing issues our society is dealing with and how it can impact their research and daily life. All US citizens take part in the presidential election. To understand the ability of the candidates, one must understand the politics these candidates will execute in education, economy, diplomacy, and infrastructure. Taking classes related to economy, politics, etc. help students know the issues faced by society and how they can make better decisions. Similarly, students studying humanity as a major can take classes of science and technology as taking these classes help students understand the phenomenon in a more scientific manner.

Taking classes in different disciplines improves students’ innovation and creative abilities. For instance, studying fashion design and computer science together can be beneficial. By studying interactive technology, fashion designers can design more stylish smart clothes that help others look fabulous. Fashion designing students can take the benefits of computer programs and light sensors for creating an interactive system attached to a dress. Likewise, students studying computer science can also combine fashion design into their research and the ones learning 3D-fitting technology, taking fashion design classes can help them understand the relationship between three-dimensional and body sharp and two-dimensional parts of clothes so that more accurate programs can be developed.

Similar engineers while working in companies are expected to work in different domains and if they are experts in different fields, they can get better employment opportunities. Today certainly, engineering is one of the demanding fields of study and there are different specializations to choose from including Civil Engineering, IT, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, among many others. But no matter whichever engineering you pursue, you need to be an expert in a lot of other factors as well like how to optimize the cost, etc. But in case a student has only studied electrical engineering then he/she might not be able to deal with other factors. On the other hand, students pursuing some financial and environmental courses in addition to their regular courses can do the task effectively.

However, many people disagree that pursuing courses outside students' areas of research are of no use throughout their career. In fact, many positions in today's society need candidates to have transdisciplinary experience as it is important for teamwork and let team members understand each other's ideas easily. For instance, someone involved in designing cell phones needs to have accurate details of the same. Product designers must know the function of every technical component of a cell phone, materials, etc. that are used while designing a cell phone. Moreover technicians need to understand the design idea and must have the ability to solve technical problems. Pursuing a similar course at the university helps students get the required knowledge and skills that help them have a great career ahead.

In the end, I agree with the statement that universities must encourage all students to take courses in different categories. The advantages explored by students related to academic research, career path, etc. remain with them forever and help them chase their dreams. Educating students to be versatile can help them become an asset to their society.
