Most European universities do not require GRE scores for admissions. GRE score is considered a crucial entrance for pursuing a master's or doctoral, but these European universities that do not require GRE sometimes make the score additional, or waive-off the GRE score if they notice a high GPA.

European Universities Not Requiring GRE Score
There are many European universities which accept GRE score as their requirements but few of them have different entry requirements based on the field of study. We have curated a list of European Universities without GRE along with their field of study.
Oxford University
Ranked 4th in the QS world ranking, Oxford University is a dream university of many students.
Students pursuing the following subjects will not require GRE:
- MSc in Computer Science;
- MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing
- Mathematical and Computational Finance
- Mathematics and Foundations of Computer Science
- Mathematical and Theoretical Physics
The entry requirements are:
- Either a professional bachelor’s degree of 4 years from a recognized institute with an overall 65%;
- Or, a standard bachelor’s degree of 3 years from a recognized institute with an overall 70%
Cambridge University
Ranked 7th in the QS world ranking, Cambridge University does not require GRE scores if you are applying for the following courses:
MASt in
- Mathematical Statistics
- Pure Mathematics
- Applied Mathematics
MPhil in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology
The entry requirements are:
- Professional bachelor’s degree (4 years) or bachelors of arts/commerce/science (3-4 years) from a recognised institute with a CGPA of 7.3+ or overall grade of 70%.
Imperial College, London
Ranked 9th in the QS world ranking, Imperial College, London is famous for its development in science, engineering, business and medicine. It doesn’t require GRE for:
MSc in
- Pure Mathematics
- Applied Mathematics
- Mathematics and Finance
- Statistics
The entry requirements are:
- Have either completed a 4 years bachelors from a recognized university with a 75% marks or CGPA 8.5+;
- If candidates have completed their undergraduate from one of the renowned Indian Institute of Technology then the required CGPA is 7+.
London School of Economics and Political Science
Ranked 44th in the QS world ranking, London School of Economics and Political science doesn’t require GRE for:
MSc in
- Statistics
- Statistics (Financial Statistics)
- Statistics (Social Statistics)
The entry requirements are:
- 3 years undergraduate degree with cumulative CGPA of 5.5/7, 6.5/8, 7.5/9 or 8.5/10 or 65%
Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands
Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands is ranked 115th in the QS world ranking and if you are applying for the following subject, GRE is not required:
- MSc in Biotechnology
The entry requirements are:
- 70% grade
University of Manchester
Ranked 27th in QS world ranking, University of Manchester doesn’t require GRE for pursuing:
MSc in
- Electrical Power Systems Engineering
- Advanced Electrical Power Systems Engineering
- Mechanical engineering design
The entry requirement is:
- Upper second class UK degree equivalent
Suitable Profile for a Grad Student
As already noticed, GRE scores are not mandatory for all the fields of study in the European Universities. European universities without GRE score generally focus more on the CGPA, academic transcripts, and interviews too. The following list of requirements will be helpful for the candidates to know about:
- UG Degree: An undergraduate degree from a recognized institute with a high CGPA is a prerequisite;
- Standardized Test Results like TOEFL, IELTS, and GMAT (for business schools) are necessary to be submitted with proper marks;
- Research experience is a factor that is not mentioned in many requirements but can instantly boost your application. A summer internship from renowned labs or research published in a journal are few ways;
- Resume, letter of recommendations and statement of purposes are three very crucial documents studying which the university will assess the candidate.
