Some of my friends just finished their PhD and everybody has been placed. Some are working with the Canadian Goverment with their labs, another has gone to the US for a post doctoral position, another has gone to university of Calgary, so the univeristy is kinda famous as we're in the top 10 in Western Canada. The hospital we're associated with has been ranked number one in the region. We also get opportunities to go to big companies like bioemergent solutions, so everybody gets hired here or there. Everyone applies by themselves.

Internship

i've done internships at IISC bangalore and University of Delhi Molecular Oncology lab

There are many past alumni from my university who have contributed a lot in the research field, noble Prize in physics 2019 was won by the University of Manitoba alumnus, many alumni have made it to the Canadian hall of fame like dr. Henry Friesen, dr Niranjan Dhalla, and many more.

It is in my present city of residence.

Haven't been in that scenario yet, but seeing via stats, it shows some great numbers

I chose this university as it has amazing faculty and way of teaching, with a friendly and respectful, and safe environment. Students encourage each other to succeed.

Since I'm just getting done with the 2nd year my knowledge about this section is not so much but one thing I know is a lot of seniors have been placed at excellent jobs and some are successful entrepreneurs.

Internship

Not currently in college but in high school, I interned with a few banks back home as well as the Ministry of Foreign affairs Pakistan.

Around 90% of the companies that visited are for Agribusiness, Agronomy, and Agriculture Diploma students and most of those graduates get a job instantly after graduating (i.e. 80%). For Food Science not as much (50-60%) get a job after, and the annual salary varies from $35,000-$40,000. Jobs offered after Grad would be Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technician for a Food Plant.

Internship

However when I went there not that many. If you are doing Agribusiness/Agronomy, Diploma degree there are tons, however for Food Science not many. I did a internship and it definitely opened my eyes to know what to expect in the industry, strongly recommend it.

There was a good hands-on theatre program that allowed me to experience what I wanted to do and explore. The campus felt safe to walk around. The campus is also very pretty and perfect for taking pictures. This theatre program allows you to expand your horizons and allows you to meet people involved in the industry. The other classes offered are also very interesting.

Some placements are amazing and others I know are not. For myself, I had an amazing placement last year working at my city's Bell MTS head office, and now this year again I have a great placement at an engineering consultant. However, both these jobs I found on my own, weren't co-op posting jobs.

Internship

Yes, we have co-op programs for numerous faculties and practicum programs as well. I am in the co-op program. I don't find it to be super great or helpful but I know some other students value it a lot. It's very possible to get engineering work on your own without it so that's why I don't value it.

I guess, they do but I'm not taking classes on campus. I am doing online courses at the moment so I haven't looked into the option. Once I'm on campus ill be sure to check out all the available opportunities.

I opted for this university because are the only university in Manitoba with a medical school. I am planning to go into the field of medicine and it will be an advantage for me to do my undergraduate courses from the same university.

It was very near to my home. It was also the only college in my province with an accredited engineering program so it was effectively my only option if I wanted to stay at home. I also heard positive things from others.

It is the closest school to where I live. I moved from the Philippines to live in Manitoba, and I was not that comfortable to move to another province when I can just take it here. I chose this over the University of Winnipeg because it is the state university of the province and this is also where my brother was studying.
