Red River College is one of the topmost applied learning and research institutions in Western Canada that welcomes around 22,000 students every year. The college offers more than 200 full-time and part-time Certificates, diplomas, Advanced Diploma, and Degree courses. Areas of study available are Health Sciences, Business, Intensive English, Hospitality, Skilled Trades, Creative Arts, Community Service and Transportation Technology.

For admission to Red River College, students must have an equivalent of Manitoba Grade 12 or post secondary Education and meet the ELP requirements. In case of few other specific Programs, students may need to meet other admission related requirements such as submission of portfolio and resume. To apply, students must create a RRC account and sign in to the same. Along with Application, Students must pay a 120 CAD as application fee. In order to apply for admission to Red River College, these steps are to be followed:

• Submit the completed application
• Selected applicants will receive Offer mail from the college
• Pay a deposit fee of 1100 CAD within 14 days of the issuance of the offer. Payments can be made via online banking, master card, visa cards or by wire transfer.
• Official Academic transcripts
  • Documents should be in PDF format and should not exceed 5 MB.
  • All supporting documents should be in English or French or should have English translations attached.
  • Failing to do so can result in delay or even rejection of the application.
  • High-quality images of the official documents should be submitted.
  • Attested, notarized, and certified documents are not accepted.

• All applicants are advised to create an online account with the Red River College portal.

• Applicants can satisfy the Language Proficiency Assessment either by achieving a minimum required score on a recognized English Proficiency test or by taking Red River college’s Intensive English for International Students Program (IEIS).
• Applicants who have not satisfied the minimum scores in the Proficiency Test should also take the IEIS program. The duration of the course is unique for each applicant.

English Proficiency Test Score Requirements

Red River college accepts IELTS Academic, TOEFL and CanTest scores as proofs of English proficiency.

Applicants who have not taken any of the above proficiency tests or have scores below the minimum required scores should take the Intensive English for International Students program along with their academic program. The Intensive English program is generally a 4-month long course. However, the course and its duration are unique for each applicant.

Applicant will be placed in the level that best suits his/ her proficiency level. The following table represents a brief idea on levels of study of the IEIS program.

Applicants who have not taken any of the proficiency exams will be required to attend an English proficiency test upon arrival at College. The applicant will be placed in the appropriate course level based on the score.

Visa Process for International Students

Applicants should apply for the Study permit immediately after the Letter of Acceptance is issued from the college.

To receive the Letter of Acceptance:

On receiving the study permit, the same should be uploaded in the applicant’s online account to notify the College. Notification will be due 30 days prior to the start of the program.

The application will be assessed to determine if the applicant meet the program’s admission requirements. If the applicant is successful in fulfiilling the requirements, and space is available, an Offer Email will be issued.
