  • Psychology at Waterloo is a world-class department in one of Canada's best universities. Founded in the early 1960s, the Department has grown to become one of the most esteemed Departments of Psychology in Canada.
  • The Department is intensely research-oriented and intellectually exciting with many research groups, centers, and labs.

  • The Department of Psychology includes 42 faculty members, approximately equally divided over six major research areas: Clinical, Cognitive, Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental, Industrial/Organizational, and Social. We have over 800 undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in psychology and over 400 pursuing a Psychology Minor. Our faculty and our graduate program are internationally renowned.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students should have an Honours Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Psychology with at least an 80% overall standing, in the last two years, or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Department of Psychology Application.
  • Students should submit results from the Graduate Record Examination (Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytic scores).
  • Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
  • The GRE exam score is not required but if given will be encouraged.
  • Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
  • CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
