- Miami's program in public administration gives students the insight they need to work in a public agency. This major is for students interested in public service careers, including work for federal, state, or local government; city management; international organizations; nonprofit institutions; government relations in private firms; consulting firms; or post-graduate education in public administration, policy analysis, or the law.
- Miami’s students study with an engaging faculty, who themselves are involved in a wide range of research projects. Several members of our faculty have received awards for outstanding teaching and recognition of their scholarly research. Many of Miami’s faculty have experience working in government and politics and bring that experience to the classroom. Miami also encourages their students to take advantage of opportunities to undertake internships and other experiences in applied settings, and to study abroad—which are increasingly important in the global environment. There are opportunities for students to engage in research projects of their own, with possible funding available from college or university programs.
