Ashland University provides more than 70 different programs at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate levels via its four academic colleges namely- Graduate, Online and Adult Education Center; Founders School for Continuing Education; and Ashland Theological Seminary. With an acceptance rate of 68%, the university is not very selective in its admission. It houses over 6,627 students coming from around the world seeking to study in the USA. The university takes admission on a rolling basis which begins from July 1. 

Aspirants interested to join Ashland University can apply directly via the university online portal for the fall, spring, and summer academic sessions. A non-refundable application fee of USD 50 is mandatory to pay along with the required documents like LOR, SOP, academic transcripts, visa and proof of fund. An IELTS score of 6.0 and 6.5 for UG and PG respectively is necessary to obtain for those candidates who are not from the US to prove their proficiency in the English language. For UG admissions one can share an ACT score of 18 and SAT score of 870.

Ashland University International Student Admissions

Ashland University offers a very easy and simple admission process. The procedure is quite similar to the domestic student’s and the international students are required to submit some additional documents to apply in US Universities. The aspirants are required to log back into the online application and accept the admissions decision. After acknowledging acceptance, the applicant is prompted to pay the enrollment fees. For any problem in the payment of the enrollment deposit online, one can complete the Credit Card Authorization form and submit it after completing it form via email to international-admissions@ashland.edu. Given below are the admission requirements by the international students.

English Language Proficiency Test Scores

Visa Process for International Students

International applicants can apply for a student visa to study in the USA right after an application letter is issued. Students whose applications have been approved will be issued the I-20 Form. Students can also apply for a J-1 (work/study-based exchange visitor program) visa or an H-4 (dependent on their family members H1) Visa. Aspirants will be required to submit the following documents to obtain an I-20:

  • Copy of Passport’s Biographic page

  • A complete Certificate of Finances form
  • Bank statement 
  • Letter from the government (if applicable)
  • Proof of Health Insurance

Once I-20 has been issued, an accepted student will be enrolled in the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). The visa application process includes the following next steps:

  • Paying the SEVIC I-901 fee
  • Completing the DS-160 online visa application
  • Pay the visa processing fee
  • Make an appointment at your local U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate
  • Review the site’s list of documents you need to bring to your interview
