Overview

Getting into Harvard is somewhat difficult because of its low admission rate of 3.44%. You need to have a GPA of above 4.22 and a TOEFL score of above 90 to have a fair chance of admission. You should get an SAT score of above 1500 to enhance your chances of admission.

Fees

The tuition fee for my course was around 38.3 lakh INR per year with around $4000 extra as health insurance and other fees which included rent, etc. Costs around $6000. The university provides scholarships based on certain criteria.

Overview

I decided to attend Harvard because I saw it as an opportunity for a new experience. I wanted to go abroad, and I wanted to attend a university with some renown and where I was sure I would be supported. Harvard does not require that you apply to a specific major: they let you in based on potential and then you choose what you want to do in your second year, and that appealed to me.

Roughly 52,000 USD.

Ques. How to get scholarships on havard university?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 13 Jul 23

Ans. Harvard University is well-known for providing financial aid to talented students in the form of scholarships. In fact, it runs its own committee to manage and disburse general scholarships as a type of financial aid to students in need. However, it does not offer any merit-based scholarships and no full-ride scholarships. But the university makes sure to take care of 100% of students’ financial needs. You will be surprised to know that almost half of the batch here avails of need-based scholarships or financial aid every year.  Here is a comprehensive table mentioning the list of scholarships offered to Harvard University students and the eligibility criteria for each of them: Scholarship Name Eligibility Boustany MBA Harvard scholarship Great academic track record Admitted to the MBA program at Harvard University Interview round Horace W. Goldsmith Fellowship Bachelor’s degree in hand 109+ TOEFL score 7.5+ IELTS score 75+ PTE score GMAT/ GRE scores Work experience in a full-time leadership role in a non-profit organization Interview round The Robert S Kaplan Life Sciences Fellowship Bachelor’s degree in hand 109+ TOEFL score 7.5+ IELTS score 75+ PTE score GMAT/ GRE scores Amazing track record in the field of Life Sciences Interview round Need-Based Fellowships Bachelor’s degree in hand 109+ TOEFL score 7.5+ IELTS score 75+ PTE score\GMAT/ GRE scores Satisfactory work experience A history of excellent performance in academics Interview round Now the question arises, how to get these scholarships. Students can opt for scholarships offered both by external as well as in-house sources. The university filters students for scholarships by understanding the background and economic position of the students. Only then does it grant financial aid, to let them complete their UG and PG education easily.Read more

Ques. Is IIT, Kharagpur the same as MIT or Harvard?

● Top Answer By Aditi Roy on 27 Sept 23

Ans. None of the IITs now compete with international institutions. IIT Kharagpur is a great option only if your future plans include moving to India. IITs are not as valuable as premier institutions in the US, UK, France, and Switzerland globally. There are various reasons for Harvard to stay in the upper hand that Indian institutions, they are as follows: Academic excellence: IIT Kharagpur is not ranked as one of the top engineering institutions in the world in terms of reputation or ranking. However, when looking at all elite colleges worldwide, Harvard University came in second place, which proves its academic excellence, faculty base as well and infrastructural abilities. World-Class Faculty: Some of the top business professors in the world teach at these institutions. Harvard professors are not only leaders in their disciplines but also frequently carry out ground-breaking research that advances our understanding of business. Scholarship and financial aid: Scholarships and financial assistance are available for deserving students, despite the fact that Harvard's tuition is more than that of IIT Kharagpur. Even the costs for lodging are included. Strong Alumni Base: Harvard University has an extensive and powerful global alumni network. This network might offer beneficial contacts and chances for professional success. Rahul Bajaj, CEO of Bajaj Auto, and Rajat Gupta, a former managing director of McKinsey & Company, are notable Indian graduates of Harvard Business School. Access to Silicon Valley (Stanford) or Boston (Harvard): Stanford is located in the heart of Silicon Valley, while Harvard is close to the flourishing economic center of Boston. Both universities provide access to Silicon Valley or Boston. It is simpler to investigate starting your own business, participate in internships, and network because of this proximity to existing businesses, venture capital firms, and tech startups. Placement statistics: The average package offered by Harvard Business School is 150,000 USD per year, according to placement statistics of 2022. So, in conclusion, selecting Harvard over IIT Kharagpur offers global recognition, a diverse learning environment, and access to a broad range of fields. However, financial costs and cultural adjustments are important factors to consider. Ultimately, the decision hinges on individual goals and priorities, weighing Harvard's prestige against personal circumstances.Read more

Ques. How is JNU in comparison to Harvard?

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 04 Aug 23

Ans. Both institutes are well-reputed and suitable for higher studies. But it is not possible to compare Harvard with JNU, as they both follow completely different structures and curricula. Harvard University stands out in terms of good academics, infrastructure, faculties, placement, and ranking.  JNU has a pulsating student culture, as they have various clubs and student-led organizations that result in the active participation of students in cultural and political activities. The students became socially oriented, and they should have a significant commitment to our society.   Both of them are unique and renowned.Read more
