- Early childhood educators teach in urban and suburban preschools, public and private elementary schools, child development centers, daycare centers, and Head Start programs. They also work as educational consultants and home daycare providers.
- Students have the option to pursue an initial Illinois Teaching License (PEL) with an Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 3) endorsement and an Early Childhood Special Education approval. If students are already licensed teachers, they can add an Early Childhood Education endorsement and Early Childhood Special Education approval to your PEL. They will also be qualified for the ECE Gateway credential.
- Classes meet on the Lincoln Park Campus, online, or a hybrid of both. The program can be completed in two years.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have completed a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Students require a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Language Requirments:
- Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
