VIT Vellore M.Sc Biotechnology: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Biotechnology students encounter limited placement opportunities and minimal exposure to industry, whereas Computer Science students enjoy numerous placement opportunities, often with major IT firms. Almost all Computer Science students secure placements or internships, which can lead to full-time jobs. Placement interviews are aligned with company needs, and the placement office actively supports students in obtaining positions. The semester fee is 55,000 INR, which is more affordable compared to other institutions.

Hostel fees fluctuate based on room occupancy (2 to 8 beds, AC/Non-AC) and meal choices (non-veg, veg, special). Scholarships provided include the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), Reliance Scholarship, and scholarships from the institution itself for students from less privileged backgrounds and those with high academic achievements. The total tuition fee is 75,000 INR, with additional expenses in the final year: 1,500 INR for the marksheet, 4,500 INR for the alumni fee, and 3,500 INR for placement services.

An arrear in a subject costs around 6,000 INR. While some fees are higher than at other colleges, the quality of education and opportunities, including campus placements and study abroad prospects, make it worthwhile.
