Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University is a deemed university located in the state of Tamil Nadu. This institute of higher education was formerly called Vellore Engineering College before it was conferred University Status in the year 2001 by MHRD, Government of India. the institution in its present state offers 20 undergraduate, 34 postgraduate, four integrated and four research programs.

VIT invites applications for admission to the MBA program offered by the university. The MBA program at VIT is offered at VITSB and consists of six trimesters. Students can choose a range of elective subjects from areas such as

• Marketing
• Human Resources
• Information Technology and Systems
• International Business
• Operations
• Business Analytics

Applications are available from November 8 till March 5. Candidates can apply online on the official website. Admission to the MBA program will be done on the basis of CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/ATMA Score followed by PI. 

Those who have not appeared in any of the exams then they need to give admission test conducted by university.

VIT Business School (VITBS) was established initially as the Department of Management Studies of VIT University. It offers two year MBA & MBA IB, whereas MBA-IB is available only at VIT Vellore campus. After completion of one year in Vellore VIT, Students have to spend second year of the course in University of Michigan-Dearborn or University of Massachusetts Boston. After completion the programme student will be awarded with MBA degree from both VIT & US Universities. Check VIT Admission

Admission Eligibility Criteria 2024

• A graduation degree of a duration of 3 years with a minimum of 60% marks in any field from recognized University.
• Degree programme should be regular & full time.
• Students who are going to appear for qualifying exam are eligible to apply provided their result will be published.
• Relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
• Student must have taken any of the test; MAT/ XAT/CAT/NMAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT. Students must note that their scores should be available before the last date of application.

Selection Process 2024

• Selection will completely depends on score obtained in entrance tests.
• Shortlisted students will be called for Written Assessment Test (WAT) & Interview.
• Final selection will be done on the basis of composite score containing these factors:

1. Academic score
2. Work experience, Awards & Recognition ( Profile scoring elements)
3. WAT score
4. PI score
5. Entrance test score (Which you have qualified)

Exam centers for the VITBS entrance test: Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Madurai, Guwahati, Ranchi, Vellore & Kochi.

Note: Students have to pay an advance fee of INR 10,000 on the day of written test which is non-refundable.

User Facts: Students who have qualified in CAT/ MAT/ XAT/CMAT/NMAT/ATMA or GMAT  are eligible for direct admission to VITBS without going through the written test conducted by VIT. Students will be directly called for group discussion & interview if required by VIT authorities.

How to apply 2024?

The application form for admission to VIT University’s MBA program has been made available on the official website. Follow these steps to fill the application form:

• Enter all the relevant details carefully.
• A password will be sent from VIT to your registered mobile no. and email id.
• Login using the registered email address with the password received from VIT
• Provide all relevant details carefully, before submission.
• An application number will be generated after submission.
• Application cost of INR. 1350 only can be paid through Online mode (Net banking / Debit card / Credit card).

Photo and Signature Upload:

• Passport size color photograph (3.5 cm X 4.5 cm) in jpg/jpeg format with a maximum file size of 200 KB.
• Signature of the candidate (Dimension: 6 cm (width) X 2 cm height) in jpg / jpeg format with a maximum file size of 200 KB.
