IIT Delhi MTech admissions are based on GATE Score followed by COAP counselling. For IIT Delhi MTech Admission 2024, GATE registrations have been concluded. The GATE admit cards for download will be available from January 03, 2023. The GATE exam 2024 is scheduled to take place on February 3,4,10, & 11, 2024 (tentative). 

IIT Delhi offers MTech program in a total of 42 specailizations. The admission is granted as per GATE Score and COAP Counselling. For 2023 admissions, a total of 10 rounds of COAP Counselling were untaken. The cutoff by marks for IIT Delhi MTech CSE admission remained 800. The admission process for IIT Delhi MTech admission will start in May – June 2024. Candidates having a valid BTech degree are eligible for admission.

IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or more, on the other hand, are exempted from taking the GATE exam. Some candidates are accepted after a personal interview. Applicants interested in admission to IIT Delhi's M.Tech programs must apply through IIT Delhi's official website. The minimum duration of M.Tech. programs are 4 semesters (24 months) for full-time and 6 semesters (36 months) for part-time programs and M. Tech. (High-Value Assistantship) programs.

IIT Delhi M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria for IIT Delhi M.Tech Program are as follows.

  • Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of an approved degree program.
  • Applicants in their final year will be shortlisted based on their grades up to the seventh semester or third year.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 60%/6.0 CGPA in their qualification degree.
  • Applicants need to have current GATE results.
  • Candidates with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 who have passed or are appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree from any Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are eligible for direct admission to IIT Delhi without having to satisfy GATE.

  • MTech Admissions are based on GATE Score followed by valid COAP counseling.
  • For Part-time candidates, Candidates are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization 
  • Candidates in the final year of their programs and who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before the third week of July 2023 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • Admission to M.Tech (part-time) programs is restricted to personnel of Public Sector Undertakings, Government Departments, Research and Development Organizations, and Private Companies (as permitted by Faculty Boards).
  • For IIT Delhi M.Tech Program, the minimal experience (Full Time) necessary after the qualifying degree and as of the date of registration is 6 month.

  • Filling IIT Delhi M.Tech Application - Applicants must first complete the IIT Delhi M.Tech admission 2024 online application form. Candidates must indicate their admission mode on the application form, whether they are an IIT graduate with an 8.0 CGPA or through GATE.
  • Register for COAP 2024 - Candidates must register for GATE COAP 2024 after completing the application form to be considered for admission to the institute. In the GATE COAP process, candidates must select IIT Delhi as their desired college.
  • Seat Allotment- Applicants who applied using their GATE scores can verify their allotment status using the COAP seat allotment timetable. IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher must check in to the IIT Delhi candidate portal to schedule personal interviews. The interview will take place online.
  • Admission process - Applicants who are assigned seats must complete the additional admission process as directed by the IIT Delhi webpage.
