NIT JAMSHEDPUR

A
5.3 /5

Remarks :

The admission process was very crucial, be it choice filling to seat allotment and reporting, the cutoff for this year was a bit low from last year's, in the first round mechanical branch in NIT Jamshedpur closed with obc category rank of 16k. There were no major differences till 6th round.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My jee mains OBC rank was 16k and I was getting mechanical and the below branches in almost all mediocre NITs. I chose to be in the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur because of its placement. And environment. The class of mechanical comprises 115 students with 9-10 faculties excluding labs and workshops. The faculties are well qualified in their field all are PhD holders and some are from IITs. Their way of teaching is quite good.

Internships Opportunities :

Atlassian offered the highest package of 85 lakhs for the role of software development Engineer. The companies like tata, Infosys Wipro offers an average package of 12 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed is high and the college offers a good placement in the core branch too.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for placement from the beginning of the 6th semester. The companies like Tata Atlassian, Infosys, Wipro, and Coal India visited our college, the placement last year was 98%. The percentage of students getting placement is very high here.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are not as high compared to private colleges on average per year fee is 4lakhs, but fee remission is provided for needed ones and many scholarship programs keep coming from time to time. Students get the opportunity to avail. The scholarships from companies like Tata and Reliance.

Campus Life :

The campus life the well but not that great. There are three grand fests every year, The cultural fest Culfest, The technical fest Ojas, and The sports fest urja. There are many small fests within different branches like Vidhan, Ashwamegha for civil, and cognitio for mechanical.

Hostel Facilities :

There are 4 hostels for girls in BTech and 13 mega hostels for boys. The hostel has an attached mess building.. each room has triple accommodation. There's a night canteen inside the hostel and lush green grasses.

The average package of our college is 17.2 LPA and 27.32 LPA for CSE. The highest package was 83LPA. I will try to get placed in one of the best companies coming into our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose computer science engineering because I always had an interest in it. The faculty-student ratio is quite good here. It is approximately 1:14. All the teachers here are PhD graduates and the teaching method is quite good too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electrical engineering being a circuital branch has a wide range of possibilities ahead. It can also be considered as evergreen branch whose demand is atleast not going to end soon. Faculty here are PhD professionals but some might not like the teaching methodologies as it is quite different from the regular schooling/coaching methodologies. Term exams are strictly followed and on basis of regular intervals to check learning process. It is pretty easy to pass the exams if someone only pays attention in class or refer to notes by professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty are here so much more friendly. Some of them try to act like a professor but they are not. Some of the professors are very good and even they take the time to solve our doubts in their cabin. They support students in every aspect. They are good in every aspect. We have two teachers for physics and one for CSE.
