Nit jamshedpur diaries .

Remarks :

I gave JEE mains for Nit Jamshedpur. You will have to pass the intermediate examination in order to appear for exams. St and sc students have reserved seats. And the cutoff it pretty high so you will have to prepare wisely. Applications for jee mains will be available on Jossa website. St and SC students are given relief in tuition fees in government colleges. Nothing is bad with the admission process. Except that council should work faster.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am currently pursuing metallurgical and materials engineering in nit Jamshedpur. I chose the core branch because it took my interest in it. It's a pretty nice course. As my College offers industrial visit for the students. It's fun visiting them. The relationship between students and faculty is pretty good. But some of the professors didn't even bother our curiosity. But it's okay after all it has to be done on its own. All the faculty here are qualified with great education. The examination is the most hectic thing in the college curriculum. The questions are pretty tough but if written professor gives marks. And that's the good thing. So we passed if the professor wanted us to.

Internships Opportunities :

Companies like Atlassian offer internships to the students of our college and that's a good thing. Clubs of the college offer many projects which help students to build there portfolios and apply for internships. Many technical clubs here have done many projects. Some of them are international competition projects. And the students working there get internship offers in a particular niche.

Placement Experience :

College offers placement with pretty decent packages like some branches like metallurgy, cse , pie, ece have 100% placement with an average of 15-20 lpa. Big companies like Infosys visit the campus. Core branches face Few placement-related problems because the core companies are not that frequent. Only noncore companies mostly visit the campus. The college has a placement cell that helps students with their placement. Which is really helpful. Many students opt for noncore companies as they pay pretty well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is feasible. However, the fee remission system is very poor. The college doesn't offer many things as the fee demands. Apart from that, we have many scholarships like medhavi ekalyan nsp and many more. The college placements are pretty good and it offers internships too.

Campus Life :

Campus Life here is very usual. Hostel life is best if you make friends over here. Genuinely it will be the best 4 years of your life. The campus size is big but not utilized that efficiently. We have 3 fests over here. Culfest the cultural fest, sports fest urja, and tech fest ojass. And apart from that, every core branch has its own branch fest. Like Technica is the branch fest of metallurgy. The library here is pretty decent books and study space both are available. Wifi too. The classroom ka big enough to accommodate 150 students in it . There's a bit team of for every sport. So there's a Great opportunity if interested in sports. Clubs are cultural as well as technical. And all the clubs ka equally active and helpful. Clubs organize events so there is a pretty good engagement of students. So overall student life is good and joyful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electrical engineering being a circuital branch has a wide range of possibilities ahead. It can also be considered as evergreen branch whose demand is atleast not going to end soon. Faculty here are PhD professionals but some might not like the teaching methodologies as it is quite different from the regular schooling/coaching methodologies. Term exams are strictly followed and on basis of regular intervals to check learning process. It is pretty easy to pass the exams if someone only pays attention in class or refer to notes by professors.

The faculty are here so much more friendly. Some of them try to act like a professor but they are not. Some of the professors are very good and even they take the time to solve our doubts in their cabin. They support students in every aspect. They are good in every aspect.
