Remarks :

NTA conducted jee advancee to appear in which you need to clear jee mains. The benefit of the reservation was that my 2800 rank was equivalent to near about 1000 general rank. The counseling process can improve a bit because booking tickets at the last minute is a difficult task.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I wanted to study something which is related to coding or computer science and in the top 7 iits because of their fame. The faculty and teaching method is ok. Generally, self-study is more important and preferred. The academic calendar is followed very strictly and hence sem took time.

Class Size : 52Course Fees : INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Internship companies have a good impression of the name of IIT Guwahati even if a person is applying for off off-campus internship. The popular IT companies provide a lot of internship opportunities and they even give PPO if the performance of the student is good.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for placement in 4rth year and are eligible for internship from the 3rd year. The highest domestic package of the year 2023 was 1.2cr and the highest international package of the year 2023 was 2.44cr.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The cost to study is very normal as considered of all iits. It is nearly 12-13 lakhs for 4 years(including hostal fees) own expenses. The scholarships provided by the college is normally for SC and ST students(scholarship even for buying laptop).

Campus Life :

The campus life of IIt Guwahati is amazing, my group of friends goes for a night out with a speaker and goes cycling for the whole night. The campus has four lakes near which couples are spotted. Library is open till 2 am and for 24 hours when mid-semester or end sem is near.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilities are completely dependent on the hostel allotted to you. The newly made hostel even has the facility of an attached bathroom while you can face the difficulty of water not coming for a few hours in the old hostel which gives you a complete hostel vibe.

Hostel Fee : INR 60000 per year

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

The College life at NIT SILCHAR

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.

Placement Experience:

The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.
