Beauty Of IIT Guwhati

Remarks :

I am through to the college via JEE ADVANCED 2023. For these, you have to clear JEE Mains, and then if you are in cutoff marks which are around 90 Pr this time you have to sit in JEE Advanced. I got AIR 5526 in JEE Advanced.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I want to open the chemical industry. branch has a sex ratio of around 1:4. All the professors are PhD. They are also from well-known institutes. Term exams were quite tough but there was relative grading so not that difficult.

Internships Opportunities :

Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Tata, Reliance, etc are the main companies on the campus. They offer jobs for costing and also too many jobs for Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, BSBE, etc core jobs are also very good.

Placement Experience :

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for placement. Almost 80 percent of applied students got placements. There are more than 300 companies visited and 639 jobs were offered out of 769 registered students.83.09 percent of jobs were offered.in B Tech. I want to do a job first after getting a degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you are from the SC/ST category or your income is low then have to pay very minor fees of around 4 lakh for four years. Also, there are many scholarship opportunities. No job on stipend for B Tech. There are some minor expenses like Canteen, stationary, etc no need for more money.

Campus Life :

There are many fests. Tech Fest is in the month of August named: Techniche. The cultural fest is in February named: Archeringha and the sports fest is in November named; Spirit. There are too many books in the library containing all subjects and collicular books in the library. All facilities are very good on campus too. Cricket, Football, and other 12 games are there. Social Sathi Club, Xpression Drama Club, Dance Cadence Club, and many more are clubs.

Hostel Facilities :

There are beds, tables, and a cupboard in the room. There is a twin sharing room. Lan cables are available here. Also, all rooms have windows. Mess food is quite good but not as much as at home. The hostel is on campus so it is easy to travel.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is quite good. we cannot disclose the name of the company visiting the campus because the training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR did not allow us to disclose the names of the companies. My plan after getting my degree is to go through the UPSC exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I was interested in this course. Here the faculty-to-student ratio would be around 1:25 which is very good we can clarify our doubts by asking the faculty, the Qualification of the teaching method will mostly be the same, they are PhD, but their teaching experience plays a major role and their teaching method varies from faculty to faculty but it would be nice. Term exams would be around 5 months Difficulty in passing the exams depends on the faculty.

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for campus. As per the guidelines of the training and placement cell, the name of the company visited can't be disclosed. There are too many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Almost all the students who are eligible for placements get placed with a good package.

Till now placement percentage is at a good level. From 6th semester students became eligible for placements. Most of the students get placed. From what I have heard short listing of candidates is based on cgpa basis. Skills are most important to go to software companies.

Placement Experience:

The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.
