Remarks :
You will have to get a good rank in JEE Advanced to be eligible to be admitted to one of the top 7 ranked IITs. I got around 6k in JEE Advanced and got chemical engineering here at IIT through jossa counseling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
It has a good scope and also a course with less burden so that I can focus on other activities for overall development. Faculty here are all highly qualified and mostly have their PhDs from some good foreign university. There are two quizzes a mid-semester and an end-semester in a semester and relative grading is followed mostly.
Internships Opportunities :
Google, Microsoft, and any of your dream tech companies visit the company for intership for different interesting roles. I being a first-year student can't describe internships much but after talking to seniors over here I know that it provides quite a nice opportunity before placements.
Placement Experience :
Amazing placements, and what else do you even expect from an IIT. Mostly all the big mncs that hire engineers visit our campus and offer quite nice packages. The highest package last year was around 1.2 crores.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Being a government college there is no fee hike yearly. And the fees are reasonably low compared to private institutes 0f our country and the quality of education you get justifies it. I don't have a scholarship and I didn't need one too due to the low fees.
Campus Life :
The campus life is amazing. The college has one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. Greenery all around with a few lakes and the mighty Brahmaputra on one side of it. It has got a very big library with many books available and a reading room in each hostel with some nice books and novels too. The classrooms are generally air-conditioned and quite good. Sports facilities are the best you can get in the country, with each and every sport you can think of. All the clubs (there are many) are run by students and are active throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are not the best but you won't mind it as campus life is all about roaming around doing stuff and not being confined to your hostel rooms only. You will get an almirah and a table with your room for two(for the past 2-3 years as one old hostel has been vacated due to an earthquake and a new one is under construction). Registration and all for hostels is as easy as it can get. Just arrive here and sign two or three docs and it is done.
