My university my journey

Remarks :

One should have either PCB or PCM in 12 standard and should have scored more than 60%. The application form is released in April every year while the exam is conducted in June. One can find the application form on Hau's official website. Apart from category reservations, there is another quota for LDV students, particularly for those who belong to villages, which have given their land to the university for the establishment of either Krishi Vigyan Kendra or research station or college etc. Other than this there is a quota for faculty children, ex-servicemen, and children of martyrs, seats are reserved for Kashmiri migrants, and non residentials of India as well.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I opted for it, because of my keen interest in agriculture as I am from an agricultural family. Apart from this, I see numerous enterprise opportunities particularly associated with horticulture field. Students enrolled in the university are allotted an advisor, and normally for every 8 students, there is an advisor who apart from their studies helps them in their overall development. Most of the faculty members hold PhD degrees in their respective fields while some of them have worked on research projects and have international degrees as well. Talking about the exams, exams are always in accordance with the schedule and are held timely but sometimes they take a bit longer to declare the results, While exams are not that tough and one can easily pass them one needs to be consistent in their studies for better results.

Internships Opportunities :

For internship and job opportunities there is a placement cell in the university that ties up with the start-ups, and established businesses to provide learning opportunities be it a private bank, seed firm, fertilizer firm etcetera. Stipend differs depending upon the firm one is applying in and according to the potential of the individual.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

According to the latest order university is planning to raise the fee by a margin of 10 percent every year in the future, but still, the fee structure is feasible. There are numerous scholarships like entrance-based scholarships or one based on semester results, there are different scholarships for ug and pg students. Although for UG students the money is not that big amount it helps them to buy books for their studies. Students belonging to reserved category, they are allowed to purchase books of their interests, that too free of cost. In the case of ug students for the Rawe and industrial attachment ug students are awarded an amount of Rs. 55000, so all in all, the whole programme is student-friendly.

Campus Life :

My university is always ready to host programmes like state-level Nss camps or national integration camps or be it pre-grad selection trials etcetera, Other than this my university organises debate competitions, quiz competitions and arts and crafts shows. university also organise the Krishi Mela for both the Khalif and rabi season to aware farmers about new technological advancements,

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because the chances of getting a job are higher than simple bsc. In this degree, we have 9 major subjects. In the first 6 semesters, we have theory as well as practical classes. The 7th and 8th semester is just like the internship program. Faculty members are very good and supportive

Placement Experience:

In the 7th and 8th semesters, students are eligible for campus placement. HDFC bank visited for the placement. Students with above a 7.5 GPA can apply for such placement as the number of vacancies is less as well. After completing my graduation I want to pursue agribusiness management.
